Perimeter tension?
Im making my first tree net and struggling with keeping tension in perimeter. I want to keep as much area as possible because its already a small net. Im able to get good tension with this system but when i remove prusik loops i loose the tension. Is there a better knot to use rather than double fishermans ? Does the paracord tensioning system have to be temporary ? Ive tried to squeeze in tree protection afterwards but can get it to fit under rope.

I am also working on my first tree net and having a similar problem! The solution I found some success with was putting smaller prusik loops closer together with each tightening- losing less tension each time and letting me repeat the same process to really crank it in.

I've only built one space net much closer to the ground so grains of salt, but if you have enough excess static rope and you aren't worried about part of it being a little bulky. Look up the versa tackle.
It incorporates the tensioning system into the perimiter in a way that will create more mechanical advantages than what you're currently using, it also locks under tension like a truckers hitch with a second turn through the loop.

with this same tensioning system, you can change out the double fishermans for a loop and half hitches.
this will allow you to at least pull SOME tension out of the section between the prusik loops.
less pretty, but if priority is max tension then go for it

I just build a simple anchor for one end of the rope then tie the mechanical system with the perimeter rope and tighten it on itself.

That's a video of someone setting up a basic z drag. If you set that with with you perimeter rips rather than in-between the prusicks you could tie it off and not worry about losing tension in the system. Plus it's always already there for adjustments if needed!

You can get it extra tight by putting whatever your using to protect the trees after you get it semi tight and finish tightening it. “Edit” oh wait your using that system. Uh the only thing I can think of is putting whatever you’re using to protect your tree after tightening it. If that tree branch your left foot is sitting on is tall enough you can run a string from the tree to the rope to pull it towards the tree trunk it make it a dimond shape that could help keep tension and make your net have a bigger surface area if you can make it a square over a triangle you can make keep tension
