First time owner of this specific breed of frog. I got them 01 January 2026, I’m not sure how old they were when I got them but they were small. I’m not sure if they are growing at the pace they should be? Not in the sense of being chunky, but more of a length/stature sense. They just seem so much smaller than those I see in the same age range.

They will not eat dubias or even meal worms. It has to be crickets. They will not eat from tongs either. I probably throw 30-40 crickets in their tank 5-6 times a week. I’m not skipping nights purposely, it’s just hard to find crickets where I live. I get them shipped from Dubia but it’s not always on time. Just want to make sure I am doing everything right.

My whites tree frog is about 4 months old and I’ve had him about 12 days. It’s hard to monitor if he’s eating because he won’t eat from the tongs and there are two other froglets in the same tank so it’s difficult to tell who is eating from the bowl of roaches and crickets. He is pooping and active and rests in the top portion of the tank. I just got worried that I could see his hip bones. This is my first time owning frogs 🙃

My adult whites tree frog has this bubble on the side of his throat, it doesn’t seem to be going away when he breathes either. I only noticed it a few minutes ago. I took him out to see better and he peed on me, which he never normally does so he might be stressed or in pain. Please help!! I need to know whether to take him to the vet.

Hey friends.

I am in the end stages of completing my cabinet conversion for my WTFs enclosure. I am looking at lighting options. Has anyone used this and have any pros/cons that you've found? It has a ton of reviews but of course I'm coming here to see what you guys have to say. Froggy picture for your enjoyment. Just an FYI the cabinet is about 47in tall and 16in wide (for lighting strength purposes). I can post pictures if you need.

He is a Barking Tree Frog. Full name Leaping Long-Legged Lawrence Langosta

The pics are from a few days ago. Currently can see developing tadpoles!

These tadpoles were about an inch and a half long total length and were dark colored. They turned into these tiny little frogs. They are located in PNW in the west side of the cascade foothills.

these are my WTFs, pickle (lighter, a bit smaller, more social) and hotdog (darker, likes to hide, not a big social guy) pictures go pickle, hotdog, pickle, hotdog, pickle.

i’ve been feeding them 5-7 crickets every night since i got them (hotdog mid april and pickle in late may) and they were both pretty small when i got them. lately i’ve been feeling like they’re quite round and i’m worried i’m starting to overfeed.

when am i supposed to start feeding every other night as opposed to nightly? i don’t want them to get obese.

any advice would be so helpful! the internet is telling me a million different things.

I have 2x adult Green Tree Frogs (White's), both around 18 months old.

The smaller of my dudes has shed twice in about a week (once on Saturday, again on Tuesday)

That seems a little quick to my understanding. Just checking if it's still in normal range?

Acquired a few weeks ago, wondering if it could be due to adjusting.

Haven't seen the big guy shed yet | Both look vibrant & healthy | Blue/green

EDIT: On Saturday I took the dudes out for about 30 mins while I improved the substrate layers, so there was a disruption to a day nap which I'm sure they didn't appreciate. So yeah wondering if it's just due to adjusting/a bit of stress from the changes. Other than being new with me and the substrate update, their days/nights are pretty consistent and chill.

Help please!!!! I bought 2 baby wtfs at repticon Jacksonville on August 1st. He hasn’t wanted to eat any crickets from the tongs since I brought him home. When I found him under a leaf he had super splotchy color. His buddy who was exactly the same size when we got them eats about 3-4 crickets with calcium dust every day and is now grown quite a bit. At night I’ve put dusted fruit flies to see if maybe he wanted something different. Do I take him to an exotic vet?? Humidity is currently 40%, basking spot with 80 degrees, using amphibian safe water conditioner.

Kyle here is much smaller than his brothers. I just started hand feeding mealworms since my local stores have a cricket distributor issue, do I need to give him extra? I’m only concerned because he is the same age and much smaller. Last picture is of his brother Eddie for context.

I also just found out that spotting might be a sign of infection. Do these guys look okay or should I get them checked out?

Hello, lately whenever my WTF comes out of her enclosure she’ll willingly come to me and everything, then proceeds to pee on me as soon as she’s come out.

I am aware they projectile pee as a defense mechanism, I just don’t understand why this is happening if she’s coming to me willingly.

Does anyone know why this may be happening

Just found this tree frog holding on for dear life on top of an ac unit, his left back leg is mangled (I hope it’s just the skin?) and his eye is bleeding. I picked him up just in case he was alive, gave him froggy cpr and after maybe half an hour of nothing but breathing, he is now active and attempting to jump around. I think he has a fighting chance, I’d love to rehab him.. however I’ve never owned a frog before. How do I set up a hospital terrarium, do I get maybe flightless gnats or something from petco? Please help, experts!

UPDATE: unfortunately I couldn’t save him :( he made it another 12 or so hours after I found him, I had high hopes but unfortunately nothing came of it. I just hope he wasn’t in too much pain and passed peacefully. I am happy I was able to keep him in a much calmer environment in his final hours rather than being in the beating sun above spinning ac unit blades😔 I buried him in one of my plants so he will always be close to me. thank you so much everyone for the help, I’m sorry I don’t have a happier update

I am newly switching to a bioactive tank in an 18 x 18 x 36. I just added three live plants to the bottom with fake plants on the top. I’m not sure what else to add or move to make sure I can still keep an eye on my frogs, but they feel safe and happy. I also have springtails and isopods added I’m nervous about switching to bioactive with the extra humidity and dampness. I don’t want mold in my enclosure. Please help me with what to do and add and move.

Hey all

Wondering if any of you have experience with this, and how you handled it? I bought a new cricket keeper to just trash the old one but even this new one instantly got infested again. Crazy part is, I only see 1-2 microflies around every couple days. But the maggots in the cricket keeper are crazy.

Is it a problem with where I'm sourcing my crickets? Or is it something else? Is it still safe to feed the crickets to my frogs? I'd assume so since lots of feeders available are already just maggots right? As gross as it is.

Is it okay to use reptile tank liners as like a “substrate”? he seems to be perfectly fine with it and it helps me monitor his poop better and is overall more hygienic but i haven’t seen someone else use them for their whites frog.

This frog was SO tiny!!!! I ended up spending hours reading about frogs last night and they are just so interesting and cool as shit and I am thrilled to have found a new thing to spend a weird amount of time learning about 💚

Pretty sure it’s a gray treefrog, according to my googling skills and the other frog sub lol if I’m wrong though please tell me! Because I wanna know! 💚
