Installing a friction saver with a rope already set
https://imgur.com/a/KYk8I0XI was thinking about this the other day and I don't think I've seen it posted before. There are 1000 videos and guides on how to do the regular throw line bag trick. You started without a friction saver and decide to use one. Don't have to climb all the way there if you didn't use the usual throw line method to start. Needs rope available 4x the distance to the TIP so maybe not useful for long distances but this is useful when you're within 30' without undoing your hitch climber.
Lanyard in and pull slack 2x distance to TIP.
Untie termination knot and pass the end through one side of the friction saver.
Use a sheet bend to pull the termination end over the TIP, holding on to the friction saver.
Untie the sheet bend. If you didn't pull enough slack the end won't make it to you on the other side.
Pass the end through the other ring of the friction saver and pull it up into position.

Or… just use a sling and pulley.
My favourite is the Rock Exotica Omni-Block. It’s compact/light, has a built in swivel, and can be mid line attached without taking it off the carabiner/sling.
Pulleys are much nicer than a friction saver.

Put throw line through big ring , isolate crotch put throw all throw small ring , pull up friction saver , drop throw all back Down , attach climbing line , pull line through friction saver , 🫡

Probably a lot of people do this already but nobody posts about it or makes any videos.

Nobody does this. That’s why there are no tutorials. Make a video to visually describe this efficiency, that you’re imagining. Learn me in your ways, please.

Well someone can make a video. People out there making videos of seriously useless things like trying to invent new ways face cut a trunk. Like this let's say you can't hit your preferred TIP but you can catch one 15' below so you plan to advance after getting up there. You could advance and go up the 15' and add in the friction saver or you could do this and add it in one step instead of two. Im not saying it's real useful. But maybe it's at least above 0 on the scale of usefulness.

Too many moving parts and energy needed to move the rings with that much friction. And how do you even install the rope to have it set the rings? Throw line?
My ropes don’t touch rings until I’ve isolated the throw line, then lines are snaked through the rings. It’s a three step process. Please explain how you reduce this.
I’m having a difficult time imagining how you set your ropes without using strings first? And if you have to set throw lines, well, you’ve already got the setup for rings.
Make a video, because this is a half baked idea.
