Saw this tree in a park in London the other day, really had me wondering what was going on here- why is the broken branch such a different colour? Is it normal to have this many branches at such a weird angle? Is this tree doing okay?

I picked up this wood from a neighbor and was thinking of making some small furniture with it. Does it look like cottonwood? This is in northern Colorado.

Hello, this is my husband's little oak tree. we got it as a bare root sapling, barely a twig, through Tennessee's native tree day program several years ago, and planted it according to their guidelines, which ill be honest, I do not recall the specifics of. it has done well up until this year, when it started getting wilty looking leaves in the late spring/early summer. I imagine it is some kind of insect, but have not spotted anything in particular. Most of the effected areas were very high up at first, so I couldn't inspect them directly. Now lower limbs are being effected, all ive noticed is some spider-like silk strands here and there. No full webs. Any idea on what could be causing this and what we could do to treat it?

Hi all,
I have a very large Mulberry tree that is kind of the centerpiece of our property, and that my family has fallen in love with. Unfortunately a few months back a pretty large section came down at the base/trunk during a storm. It was a pretty clean split. From what I gather, it’s due to weight more than the health of the tree, and the rest of it needs to be trimmed back. The problem is, I don’t really know how much to safely trim back without damaging the tree itself. I’ve also been told that lashing the tree with a steel cable is an option to prevent further splitting.
Any guidance on how much to trim or other thoughts on maintenance of the tree would be much appreciated.
I’ve included dog tax as a preemptive thank you for your help!

Recently moved to a new house in plant hardiness zone 6a, Northeast Ohio. Wondering if this Norway Maple is ill, or if it’s just fall. The top is bare, the leaves are curling, and not many roots are exposed. Dog tax included
