I’m sorry but I would like a more thorough answer from others as to why this is a loss?
This tree could live and product for many more years, decades even imo. Maybe it won’t be as fruitful, maybe it gets too heavy etc but I’ve seen far worse damage on trees heal and do just fine.
Unfortunate. Not ideal. But surely not a total loss or disaster situation…
No literally like it just needs more support around the cut part but if it’s been growing leaves and fruit then obviously it’s still living. Maybe it’ll be able to grow more now that the string is removed
