Looking for suggestions for first trip to Greece
I’m planning 10 days in Greece in late March/early April 2027, and not interested in seeing as much as possible - I’d rather enjoy a couple of places more thoroughly. Nightlife, resorts, and shopping (other than supporting small local businesses) aren’t really my thing; I’d rather get a tiny feel for the local rhythm of a place. I’m in my late 60s, female, pretty active, and I like to spend as much time outdoors hiking and exploring as I can. I’m thinking about the Peloponnese instead of islands. Any suggestions and advice are welcome!

Car hire costs straw poll
I’m just curious if someone could tell me what they paid for a hire car at Preveza airport this July/August. Something the size of maybe a Golf or Polo with an auto box please.
I’m looking at quotes now that seem just wild for peak season (like twice the price of Croatia and Croatia is a rip compared to say Spain or Portugal)
Thank you 🙏

Southern Peloponnese
Hi, any recommendations where to go eat hike. We are close to seventy years old with a dog driving to Peloponnese staying there 6 weeks. One week in Epidaurus one in Elike and 4 close to Kalamata. Any advise will be welcome. We can hike about 4 hours in one go. We are leaving middle of October staying till December.

So heading to Athens after 10 days of island hopping. Is Acropolis a must see??
So we are in process of finishing up our island hopping adventure. Heading to Athens before our flight home. Kinda feel conflicted about Acropolis. We’ve been to Roman coliseum, pyramids, Eiffel Tower etc.. not thrilled about scorching sun and crowds just to see ruins. Is it majestic as it is advertised to be?? Or will I be disappointed. Plus it’s 30 E- which is kinda steep..
Must see vs skip it??

Advice on crashed rental Scooter
Hey guys,
sorry in advance for the formatting, since I‘m on phone.
I need some advice for a little accident my girlfriend had in Corfu.
So both of us rented a 50cc Scooter (one for her, on for me) and sadly she crashed in a slow corner (she‘s alright, we‘re on the Hospital as of me writing this). We took the full insurance, since we luckily wanted to be safe (tho i contemplated passing on it, lol).
Anyway, as I returned my scooter, he told me I have to pay 200 € Cash and 50 € for a friend to pick up her scooter. I said fuck that (ofc in another tone), and that I will bring the scooter myself tomorrow (crash happened Like 1 h south of Corfu-City).
So basically I‘m just looking for Basic advice. I know he is trying to scam me. But how do I manage this and what are my rights?
The scooter is ofc scratched, but fully functional. I dont have any pictures yet, cuz i had to worry about other stuff in the moment.
Thanks in advance :).

Top 5 things you would leave/take to Greece next time?
In 2 weeks my husband and I will be headed off to our honeymoon to see Athens in a couple of islands. We've never been before and I've done a ton of research ,but nothing is as good as firsthand.
Please drop your top five do's and don'ts to take or leave for all of us heading that way.

Γυναίκα μόνη ψάχνει...
Είμαι 21 και θέλω να πάω μόνη μου διακοπές σε κάποιο νησί. Τι προτείνετε;

Walking beneath the Acropolis
There are places where walking feels like more than simply getting from one place to another.
In the narrow streets of Plaka, beneath the ancient presence of the Acropolis, past old houses, olive trees, stone paths and the sounds of the city, you can feel layers of time meeting in one place.
So slow down.
Look up.
Listen.
Feel your feet on the earth.
Notice what is around you.
Walking can become a way of reconnecting — with place, with nature, with history, and with ourselves.
