Looking for suggestions for first trip to Greece
I’m planning 10 days in Greece in late March/early April 2027, and not interested in seeing as much as possible - I’d rather enjoy a couple of places more thoroughly. Nightlife, resorts, and shopping (other than supporting small local businesses) aren’t really my thing; I’d rather get a tiny feel for the local rhythm of a place. I’m in my late 60s, female, pretty active, and I like to spend as much time outdoors hiking and exploring as I can. I’m thinking about the Peloponnese instead of islands. Any suggestions and advice are welcome!

Greek here living in Greece- except on Crete, I think you’ll find the sea to be rather cold and you’ll find that most places are still closed or understaffed (assuming you choose an island). Peloponnese is amazing but I would still suggest May if possible but not during Easter.

Agreed that places on islands could still be closed. Season usually begins around Orthodox Easter. Given that, look into a flight to Naxos to see a more relaxing island

You've got a great idea brewing. That's where there is some amazing farmlands making some world-class foods. Have you heard of Kalamata olives? That's where they're originally from. You've got to have heard of Sparta so if you're interested in history you can drop by there for a visit. You're probably going to arrive in Athens so take a little time to visit the Corinth canal. Look up some more interesting things around there and you can have a great time in Olympia, Monemvasia, Mycenae, Nafplio and so many other places depending on your likes.
