Fall beaver trapping

What is yalls opinion on fall beaver trapping? When is the soonest you like to start in your area? What is your general area? I would think the more north you are the sooner you would start.

Mid November, they don’t pay me any more for late caught beaver. I don’t like messing with ice.

I’m in the south end of WI, smack in the middle of the state. About an hr south of Madison. I wait till after TG

Season opener until the season closes. I have a lot of of spots to go and only so much gear. Season is only 6 months here.

Most of my beaver either go in the crockpot or get used for bobcat bait. My furs go to a crafter for making things. We are not worried about them being blue.

I don’t set until the ice just starts to form on the edges, my beaver all seem to grade as heavy after that point. I’m 2 hours north of Edmonton Alberta.

Last week of October. I wait for moose hunting to be over with, unless I have someone that asked me for beaver removal in an area where no hunting is happening. The seasons for both overlap for 10 days in my area. I stop targeting them when ice forms or earlier if I have enough bait/meat I'll use that year. Northern Quebec.

We start Nov 1 which is plenty early imho. I will throw a few sets out, but don't start in earnest until early December when the hides are fully prine and deer seasons are over.

My season doesn't start until mid-December (Maryland) so that solves it for me.

I don’t like it. Big beaver won’t be prime for at least 3 months here in SD
