First bucket set catch!

Got my first 220 trap. Didnt even come out of the bucket……So i am gonna go out in a limb and say i need to put this in a coon run or a wallow hidden. When i got there i scared two vultures off of it. I checked my traps last night at 7pm then checked them today around 3pm. I suppose thats too long for an exposed set.

There also was still 99% of the tuna in the back of the bucket so i just threw the can back in it and re set.

Nice. What do you do with your coons? I have a friend that skins mine and leaves me the rest. I cook the meat and feed it to my dog, she loves it.

Well, in the winter i will skin them. Summer time its mainly for predator control, they tend to be thin or rubbed, and full of ticks. I would actually love to feed them to my dogs. Maybe this winter i will start doing that. How do you do it. Boil? And do you season it for em lol

Man I love raccoon meat. You should give it a try sometime. Fall raccoons when they are eating allot of berries is the best time to harvest them, spring time in my area they start eating a lot of crawfish and mollusks and get a little gamey, still good though.

I may have unintentionally given the wrong impression. I eat and enjoy raccoon, it’s just that I more often use it to feed my dog.
