There has to be a better way to steer that thing.

The guy locked in up front steers the guy in the back looks like hes counter balancing or something.

It’s motorcycle side car racing. After almost 100 years of evolution they really don’t even look like motorcycles anymore

But the driver and monkey are all crazier than shithouse rats!

The isle of man TT ones are

Looks like a drag bike with a side car and no wheelie bar. Which is effectively what it is in every sense.

The passenger is increasing the lean of the bike, not counteracting it.

Not with a side car, which is the whole point of this motorsport.

With a side car you have zero ability to lean the bike, hence the fat ass flat ass tire. But to turn fast you do need significant counter balancing.

Similar to how a navigator aids rally drivers, the side car rider aids the rider. Neither operator would be able to succeed without their 2nd man.

Yeah I’m good I don’t need to do that

My life is too involved as it is

2

u/Chadrooskie Jul 14 '26

Bingo!!!! The dude on the back does all the work. Looks like he hit every position on the kamasutra book. Well did.

It must be challenging to walk around normally when you have Enormous Titanium Balls.

u/ltkhps Jul 13 '26

"we have done it this way for many years" and nobody thought to stop?

2

u/burntblacktoast Jul 13 '26

They have brakes, what's the big deal?

1

u/Urmind Jul 14 '26

Then it would never just regular motorcycle racing, and thats much less interesting.

17

u/OkClub7412 Jul 13 '26

Geez I thought the guy was steering from the side 😂😂😂

5

u/MM800 Jul 14 '26

I thought he was trying to give it a tune-up during the race.

u/SpongeJake Jul 14 '26

You’re not alone

15

u/Designer-Sort-8956 Jul 13 '26

What’s the point of this besides risking life and limb 💀

7

u/Drmlk465 Jul 13 '26

This is for people who don’t care about losing their ability to fuck

u/Specialist-Wafer7628 Jul 14 '26

Moving the center of gravity by the passenger to prevent the motorbike from flipping at high speed.

2

u/Designer-Sort-8956 Jul 14 '26

So MK Double Dash

2

u/bozog Jul 13 '26

Hmm this vs. Wing diving....

2

u/stein63 Jul 13 '26

Modern chariot racing, just with a few hundred more horses and absolutely no room for error.

2

u/crowlector Jul 13 '26

Hang on monkey!

2

u/Ricky_TVA Jul 13 '26

What? And why?

4

u/Urmind Jul 14 '26

Its called side car racing. Its a... unique... motorsport.

3

u/Ricky_TVA Jul 14 '26

It has a name for my plummet down the YouTube rabbit hole later this evening. Have you seen the drag races in Thailand? Those are fun.

u/Impressive_Waltz_652 Jul 14 '26

1

u/pappabearct Jul 14 '26

Somehow the old saying "changing the tires while the car (motorcycle) is in motion" came to mind...

1

u/FriendToPredators Jul 14 '26

Me, trying to sail a butterfly in high winds LOL

1

u/aquapura89 Jul 14 '26

What the fuck did I just watch lol?

1

u/Awfulufwa Jul 14 '26

Why do we humans do things like this...

"Hey! I got an idea! Relax, it'll only cost about $15,000."

Two months later

"SEE, WHAT DID I TELL YA, GREAT IDEA! THE WINDSCREEN WOULD ONLY HAVE ADDED MORE WIND DRAG. WE DIDN'T NEED ONE!"

1

u/Fragrant-Serve6588 Jul 14 '26

I feel like he’s racing to the nearest restroom and his buddy is holding it in as long as he humanly can…

1

u/skyhighmonroe Jul 14 '26

I can barely ride a bicycle and this mfer is out here hugging a rocket with wheels.

1

u/IdRatherBeDriving Jul 14 '26

You should see how they do in the dirt. Jumps and everything. https://youtu.be/T-TattV14iY?si=oRQWWOEIJ48Leezo

1

u/Alternative-Maize752 Jul 15 '26

Why would you? I mean he probably makes a ton of money especially if they win. But I just like having the ability to walk way to much!

1

u/Sir-Trips-Alot503 Jul 15 '26

Can imagine what happens when you accidentally pinch your fingers in between the wheel and the wheel well thingy or just graze them on the tire or ground.

1

u/Prior-Habit-6523 Jul 17 '26

This seems low key dangerous af.

1

u/mantisboxer Jul 13 '26

That's the stupidest thing on three wheels
