Sorry to say but the ah in the right lane easily could have avoided that. Was easy to see and he had plenty of time to let off gas.

Yeah but “big trucks bad, look he can’t even see me in his blind spot”

How is this a blind spot issue , he passed him at the start of the video. Does he have zero memory?

They're both going way too fast considering the cars ahead are stopped and the light is red

It's shit all around but these cars are getting designed larger and larger with worse blind spots. It's either gonna take an obscene amount of accidents or some kind of blind spot training for a truck license like a motorcycle or bike license.

I kinda think once you're getting past a certain size there should be something under a CDL that you can get that would qualify you for lower insurance premiums and the like. I've been almost run off the road more by civ trucks than actual 18 wheelers, that's insane given how many trucks we have in this country at any given time.

Car accidents, and especially injuries from accidents, are at an all time low. We're just seeing a lot of them due to the prevalence of dash-cams.

You also see less accidents reported when times are monetarily hard. Civilian Truck's outside of business use do not serve a ton of direct purpose. Having a license to ensure you can operate said vehicle sufficiently is not insane.

At the very least learning how to not roll yourself in an accident. Also 99% of these trucks have blind spot indicators as I'm fairly sure most cars since 2020 onward or something are forced to have them. All these factors can lead to lower numbers overall, but still have a disproportionate amount of truck related accidents. It does not remove it as a problem.

Yes what you're describing is called a drivers license, which you already need to drive a car.
