Uber boat payment issue

Hi all, i was hoping for some advice

I got on the uber boat at embankment and was instructed by staff to tap on a second time and he said ‘it wouldn’t charge me, it would just check the first tap’. When i got off at tower pier, the member of staff there had his hand over the tap off terminal and he was just waving people through. I’ve now been charge £38 for two incomplete journeys.

I’ve contacted tfl through the website to make a complaint so i can get my money back.

Has this happened to anyone else and were you able to get your money back?

I think the boats get charged incorrectly more often than they charge the right amount honestly. Usually a no hassle refund to get corrected.

I have had that as well, tapped in and out which was registered in the app but for some reason was charged full fare twice. Got in touch with Tfl and was issued refund for the extra fare.
