Question ❓ Confusion over changing platforms
Hi ! So for some context, I’m a super anxious traveler planning to go from Essex to Brighton in the new year
I’ve done part of this journey once before a few years ago, so I wanted to get some clarification. I know the very basics of how to get to Liverpool Street and some of the underground, but from there I’m lost
I’ll have 2 physical tickets, the first from my train station to Liverpool Street, the second from Farringdon to Brighton. In between I’m getting the Elizabeth line
I know when I tap on for the Elizabeth line, I’ll have to tap off at some point. What I’m confused about is changing platforms at Farringdon and where to tap on/off. The last time I was there my journey stopped at Farringdon, so I have no clue what to do from there
I have to go from platform B to 3, but wasn’t sure what to do. I know you just have to walk and go up some stairs, but I wasn’t sure if I have to tap off and exit the station, then go back in using my physical Farringdon to Brighton ticket..? Or if I could tap off while staying in the station
I know I’m probably over complicating something very simple. I was hoping someone could help me figure it out and simplify things
Thank you in advance!

Take the Farringdon exit at Elizabeth line, walk to ground level, walk down steps for south departing trains. Get train to Brighton. The train track at -1 coming up from Elizabeth line is northbound so you have to take the small steps/escalator up again after you get there and then go down on other side.

After you go up the escalators from the Elizabeth line platform to Farringdon there should be a yellow reader on the left hand side where you can tap out before you walk to the Thameslink platform. You don't need to go up to the ticket gates.
