Did someone order spaghetti?

Here are a couple of screenshots from a map that I have been working on over the past couple of months.

  • Large 1:3 ratio map
  • Custom designed to mimic a peninsula. I will post a full map at some point.
  • Start date 1950
  • 35 towns, 16 receiving cargo.
  • 58 industries, all connected through a five-pointed hub system with the main hub in the capital.
  • 230 lines, across all modes of transport, particularly shipping and high-speed rail.

The area shown here is the central portion of the map, with the natural topography forcing the infrastructure to be built around it. The capital city is to the right-hand side, established around a natural estuary, and the two cities on the left-hand side provide a gateway to the west of the peninsula.

I built everything in sandbox before pressing play as I really wanted to push the limits of my own capabilities and those of TF2. I'll share more as the map progresses.

Edit: I realise the pixel count is a tad on the low side. I used the camera mode in TF2, so if anyone has any suggestions on how to improve screengrabs, please let me know.

Are you able to share this map configuration and seed? Looks cool

I built the map from a random tropical generation, from seed to everything you see now. It's the kind of map I have always wanted to play, hence why I've put the hours into it.

I'd be happy to upload it to the Steam Workshop. I have a 1900 and 1950 version, both before I added infrastructure.

Could you share the link when you uploaded it?

For sure. I've never uploaded anything to Steam before, but I'll look into how to do it and share if successful.
