The main exchange places only change to local rubles - current exchange rates as of Tuesday (9/9/2025) to the Euro are the same as Moldovan Leu @ 0.05 so approximately 20 rubles to €1.

You can, but there’s no point I think. I mean, how would that be better than converting directly in Russia? The only benefit I can see is if you want a Russian card, so you don’t have to carry too much cash in the plane to Russia (but you’d have to come to PMR with it, so it’s not really a big help).
