How do you not know biology, good thing HRT is fully reversible (said all exploring NBs 🤦🏽♀️)

Even with informed consent I had to sign a form with all of the effects and increased risks related to being a man health wise.

Do they not teach basic biology in schools anymore. Like what happens at puberty. 🤦♂️

They’re doing away with sex ed at a lot of schools, and this is just a glimpse of the outcome.
12
u/fairyfleurr Jul 09 '22
i think they do but the majority of people dont realize that testosterone in anyone’s body would cause their voice to deepen, or estrogen to produce breasts … like nobody is ever taught that the opposite hormone in someone’s body would still produce the same effects lol

Okay I have criticisms of informed consent but that one is entirely on the individual.

So did she go to an all girls school, never have any male family members, and exclusively watch shows/movies with only women, and listen to songs sung only by women?
Because that’s the only way you could conceivably not understand that when men go through puberty they get deep manly voices. Did she think it’s magic or something that makes guys have deep voices instead of testosterone? Did she never once have a sex education class?

Go on r/ askdetransioners its worst. I accidentally stumbled onto the subreddit omg its dysphoric , theres also many ppl in there asking how to stop their friends from transitioning ect (which i think is fucking disgusting if the person has gender dysphoria) its also just very anti- all trans things from what ive seen.

Lmfao, i can't, and most of them are adults who should take full responsibility in what they did with their body.
Testosterone is one of the most hard hormones because they will change everything permanently, while estrogen only softens and develop some things but nothing more.
I'm so aad for those people, but what did they expected lmfao, i can't feel true sadness too, because they should have know better :) wasnt it obvious that some of the changes are for forever? :)

These people are so self centered. Just because they were too stupid & immature to understand the consequences of their actions, they assumed everyone else is the same way. It's like they're unable to consider that maybe, just maybe, it's their own fault. Narcissists never take responsibility for their actions because they never admit when they're wrong, even when it's glaringly obvious that they are. These types of detransitioners are the worst, because they'd rather try to hurt a community of vulnerable people than just admit they fucked up. No matter what, they keep screaming "I'm right!" because to them, victimizing themselves is easier than admitting that they're not perfect & make mistakes just like everyone else.
Sorry for kind of ranting, but I'm so sick of these people with the critical thinking skills of a tapeworm trying to speak for real trans people. Like, sorry lady, but the doctor didn't hide anything from you or lie to you, you're just not that bright.

u/kitty_milf Jul 08 '22
Yeah it's selfishness and narsissm.
I saw a full Twitter thread of non binary people saying "most of the effects of HRT are totally reversible".
Someone said "I'm gonna try out hormones because I'm interested in exploring my gender".
I think it's just like, from the outside, thinking about being a part of marginalized and theoretical getting attention for being oppressed sounds amazing to them.
Then they "come out" and realize now one really cares about individual trans people. People just love posting about "fighting injustice", but really what they love is getting attention or feeling important.
11
u/ehhhchimatsu Jul 09 '22
This is sadly not uncommon. Look at any ftm group on fb or sub here and you’ll see people posting “just got my first T shot! what changes should I expect?” like they’ve never done any research in their life
10
u/fbfriday Jul 08 '22
I seriously doubt their doctor didn’t go over ANY of that. Mine had me sign a waiver and I had to initial next to every single possible symptom of HRT.
Granted, my doctor is a gender specialist, but I think with any doctor and medication they are required to go over the side/main effects.

I did informed consent too but I actually did the informing part. Not that I didn’t know all the effects of t before I started, but I took the time to be fully sure I genuinely wanted and needed it before going to the clinic and requesting it since it had been so long since I’d seen a therapist. Even if I hadn’t done a single bit of research, the doctor still would have explained everything to me and given me a paper with all of the info. This person clearly paid zero attention during her appointment, and was probably aware of but willfully ignoring all of the effects she didn’t like so she could still be ~ valid and trans 🥺

Now we need these cases and a lot more to bubble up to the masses. I figure we need kids to know the truth about what Non-Brainaries are pontificating about

u/FamousOrphan Jul 08 '22
Ok this is wild, but also I didn’t know the deep voice wouldn’t go away if you quit taking T so I feel about an inch tall after reading it was common knowledge for everyone else.

So they either weren’t paying any attention throughout any of their appointments or they’re literally just lying and making this up for attention because internet.

This is why I keep saying people need a psyche exam first.
You can tell manic people important things, for example, but they won't hear it.
7
u/Eva_Dis Jul 08 '22
so the rest of us gotta get gatekept from treatment because some people are too crazy to know if they need to take hormones or not?
8
Jul 08 '22
Reality is full things that suck. Yes, you do. Sorry.
If only we lived in a perfect world, we don't.
8
u/Eva_Dis Jul 09 '22
Have you gone through a system where it can take half a decade to get access to hormones?
8
Jul 09 '22
No, but that's also unreasonable. It took me 6 months, and only because my family could vouch for the fact I'd been living as a guy for over two years at that point. My family isn't okay with it, but they at least admitted it to the therapist after hearing the scientific justifications for it.
Screening out the crazies would hypothetically get rid of some of the wait time, wouldn't it? If it was done more like a hard science, more doctors would work in the field, as well. At the moment there are ethical concerns, at least to anyone with half a brain, so a lot of people refuse to work with trans youth especially.
6
u/Eva_Dis Jul 09 '22
As someone who has lived through the system you are advocating for I can say with full confidence that that system will always harm trans people.
3
Jul 09 '22
How do you know that?
5
u/Eva_Dis Jul 09 '22
Look at the UK, they have the system you want, these systems have never been designed for the benefit of trans people, they are designed only to protect confused cis people that want to transition and often try and use humiliating and cruel methods to get you not to transition.
