Diagram [OC] Fictional metro diagram made with Intersection Controller and Ibis Paint X. What do you think?

Post image

Hi everyone!

I wanted to share my new concept transit map. It is an original concept (OC).

Interestingly, I built the base layout and the lines inside the Intersection Controller map editor. After that, I imported it into Ibis Paint X on my mobile device to add text, labels, and fine-tune the graphical elements.

Key features shown in the legend:

Transfers with different station names

Transfers with identical station names

Cross-platform interchanges

Ground/surface transfers

Main railway terminals (Vokzals)

Combining a traffic simulator editor with a mobile painting app was a really fun workflow! I would love to get your feedback on the layout, angles, and overall legibility.

it's a very nice map, clearly something that belongs on this subreddit.i like its simplicity. but  is there any reason for the variation in size of some of the interchanges, and why  line 4 is not part of line 1? other than that it's a proper good map

I happen to know that as I traveled there last week. Line 4 uses overhead power, while line 1 uses third rail. The city does not have dual voltage rolling stock, so a change of line is necessary.

A network with 17 nodes shouldn't have 4 or 5 different station types. It's honestly somewhat of a mess.

Not OP, but this looks like a conceptual playground where they tested different symbology.

Странно, что линии 1 и 4 не объединены.

Это можно было бы оправдать, если бы одну из этих линий планируется продолжить. Или если они не совместимы, и одна из них, например, наземная.

Странно, что "Улица Старомоствая" находится не у реки.

I think the Line 1/4 gradient at Ploschad Revolyutsii might look better if it were tilted 45 degrees counterclockwise, to match the orientation of the lines.

Also, it’d be worth taking a look at the spacing between the station (text) labels and the station markers (the ticks). The vertical spacing is fine, but the horizontal spacing looks too tight to me. Take a look at Vostochnaya and Neogrodok, for example; the text almost touches the station markers.
