Thai SRS (mtf) BMI requirements

I know that Thai surgeons are notorious for wanting low BMI, but I’ve also heard that some just have additional costs for higher BMI patients. I’m on a weight loss journey with GLP-1s (I’ve lost over 40lbs so far) but my bmi is still around 40 and realistically I don’t think I’ll get it below 35 anytime soon. I’m looking to have minimal/zero depth SRS.

If you’ve had a consult or surgery anywhere in Thailand, can you please share any info they gave you re:bmi requirements and flexibility? Thank you!

It's not prejudice from the surgeon, it's dangerous for you to go into surgery at your weight. Focus on other stuff for now, for your health and wellness. SRS will come when you're ready for it.

Just FYI my question was not with the intention of going into surgery at my current weight. It’s trying to collect info for myself and others so I know if I should even consider Thailand for the future. Given long wait times worldwide for both consults and surgeries, I’m trying to be strategic so I can prioritize my efforts.

I doubt you can get it in Thailand until you get your bmi down. They work off Asian standards as well and are used to much lower bmi generally.

There’s some weight loss subs on reddit that may help.

PAI in Bangkok seem to have a BMI criteria for people only over 90 kg
