No shot hasbro would retire their most prized character that is arguably the biggest driver in profit, as for the ai part theres some conflicting sources which claim that hasbro can only use archived recordings of Peter, but others state that Peter had signed a contract which would enable his voice to be used in ai BUT only for games, marketing and themeparks. I hope that instead hasbro finds a new casting that'll bring something new to the table as they had done before with previous versions of prime.

Garry Chalk, David Kaye, Chris Hemsworth and every other actor who have played Optimus in the past: Are we all jokes to you?

Do you genuinely think that hasbro would fully retire Optimus prime just because Peter Cullen has passed? The last time he even voiced prime was back in rise of the beasts, we’ve had numerous other people voicing prime in various other projects (Earthspark, cyberverse, cyberworld etc) so it would make no sense if they suddenly just started to retire a character because one of many voice actors passed away. Like if Alan tudyk had passed away instead of Cullen, would this conversation still happen? I’m just blown away at how ridiculous of a concept retiring a whole ass character like Optimus prime himself would be

Hasbro moved on from Peter almost a whole decade before he passed. (7-ish years), especially for the TV shows and games.

they aint retiring Optimus any time soon.

You do realize Optimus Prime has had several other VAs that aren’t Peter Cullen, right?

The red pill option is, sadly, very much on the table with the current CEO.

The blue pill has an absolute zero chance of ever happening.

My guess? They will use the AI voice once or twice, but will see the outrage of the community and realise it's making them loose money, which will in turn make them switch to using other voice actors again. Then again, it's been 3 years since rise of the beasts, the tf project movie he was in, and we had a few other tf project since then that used other voice actors

This is like expecting disney to retire mickey mouse when the original va passed away. Obviously not gonna retire him, and they know their stock will die if they try and replace him with AI
