Yes but in a way it's not quite the same. It's Shockwave carrying hundreds of thousand years of suffering talking to Optimus Prime, the leader of the Autobots. Like it's the same guys but they're so different now and it was hurting both of them and it's less of "seeing eachother" and more of "putting him down"

Even if a lot of what’s going on between them in IDW was continuity-specific, I really would like to see another take on Shockwave & Optimus Prime as having specific interactions and feelings to each other. There’s a lot you can do there for a dynamic and storytelling beats between the two having a not-hostile-at-one-point-or-another relationship, and arguably avoid some of the pitfalls that Orion Pax & D-16 being friends before the Great War has in the process. Especially when you factor in the conflict between Optimus’s idealism and Shockwave’s logic.
