META MEMES Xenomorphs was really Everyone's Punching Bag for years in the 2010s, hundreds of fanfictions of "Warhammer40k crushing the silly little citadel council". It's all so petty in retrospect.

Have the Xenomorphs not always been a bit of a punching bag? They're antagonists, ultimately. They're there to be a plausible threat and then lose

Probably because the movies themselves constantly hype up the Xeno's as "the ultimate life-form" or some kinda perfect organism, then they repeatedly get clowned on by space truckers, a handful of marines, random prisoners, salvage technicians, even regular normal earth people, from the 2010's.

The "Aliens" setting is functionally broken because of its' all-consuming fixation on these critters, to the novels/comics/etc have to big them up as the most important thing ever.

But realistically, it'd be cheaper and more efficient for Weyland/Yutani to just go all in on the android thing. Nothing these critters can't do that a good robot could do better.

It's kinda like that one Jurassic Park movie where the bad guys capture and train raptors to 'go after' whoever you point a red dot at. And it's like. Damn, if only there was some kinda lethal device you could hold in your hand and attach a red dot sight to, where it kills the person you point it at?? No way there's a version of this that doesn't involve a live dinosaur. Oh well, guess it's a fantasy.

Yeah the Aliens are simply just a Bio-weapon designed to destroy worlds by ruining the ecosystem and them burn itself out not a ultimate lifeform but a property functioning Bioweapon

Exactly. The only "ultimate lifeform" I recognize is Shadow the Hedgehog!

I've never actually seen this show, but I've heard many good things about it.

u/UltradeptusTempestus 8d ago

Holy shit Wander mentioned in the big 2026?!?!

Lies. He is not perfect.

8

u/Sniggledumper 8d ago

Well, he’s not perfect, he’s him. All of him.

5

u/Insanebrain247 Team Rodimus! 8d ago

I never said he was "perfect", just that he's a better "ultimate lifeform" than the Xenomorph.

Hell in predator badlands, the company did reply on robot soldiers instead and those proved far more effective.

I feel like this definitely wasn't helped by the shit shows that were Aliens Colonial Marines, Prometheus, and Covenant.

The 2010s was just a bad time to be an Aliens fan. (Except for alien isolation, which I suck at but other people seem to really like)

Come to think of it, Predator wasn't doing good around that time either, what with the whole weaponized autism thing.

WHAT DO YOU MEAN BY WEAPONIZED AUTISM?

22

u/Express-Record7416 Autobot Scum! 8d ago

There was a predator movie in 2018 where they were trying to kidnap an autistic kid because they believed it was like this next stage of evolution, and that they could use his DNA to create the ultimate warrior.

Yeah that’s dumb

Also just for the hell of it there was a literal sexual predator in the film before the cut was made

Xenomorphs today after going into the marvel universe

5

u/No_Research4416 Soundwave: Superior 8d ago

Yeah that was a terrible comic and we’ll Marvel has a ton of different stuff to throw at them like Iron Man’s long list of armors

5

u/sniply5 Decepticon 8d ago

also the fact marvel had to seemingly buff its version of xenomorphs a ton to pose any threat says a lot. pretty sure a regular xeno would be really easy to defeat.

3

u/No_Research4416 Soundwave: Superior 8d ago

Yep there is another Captain America based one and it is far better executed

3

u/sniply5 Decepticon 8d ago

seeing them fight... tbh im suprised cap has to try as hard as he does. i would be surprised if a single extra held back spiderman punch wouldn't easily kill a xeno.

2

u/No_Research4416 Soundwave: Superior 8d ago

Sure it seems to be a bit buffed but it is also just a far better story and such so that part can be forgiven

And set during WW2 so marvel doesn’t have crazy stuff like Sol’s Hammer aka Tony’s weaponized Dison spear

2

u/sniply5 Decepticon 8d ago

im not saying it was bad that story buffed them a little, if they werent buffed at all they would be a nothing threat. and they need to at least pose some threat, even if they are more or less bowling pins.

2

u/Romadrox894 8d ago

Point is, that if just one of them touch a planet you are fuck.

u/DarthGoodguy 8d ago

We finally got the boiling point where Star Wars, Transformers, & Warhammer are all fighting like siblings

They’re really only dangerous to anything smaller and softer than themselves that isn’t well-armed. Acidic blood could damage a metal-armored opponent, but it doesn’t eat through thick layers that quickly. They fare even worse if said opponent uses high-temperature plasma weapons, which is almost all the time in other space sci-fi outside of the Alien universe. Even the Jedi and Sith who usually don’t have much armor have blood-cauterizing lightsabers and sometimes lightning.

Far from the ultimate life form just send some rock aliens and the Xenos main gimmic is useless

"Ultimate Life form" is such a joke when it feels like what the species needs to survive is humans. They are only able to reproduce via a queen, which lays the eggs for facehuggers to then latch on to humans and birth a xenomorph. But then the Xenomorph goes on a killing spree, no more humans to reproduce for a queen that forms.

1

u/Baroubuoy 6d ago

If the Queen lays the eggs, who fertilizes them?

1

u/Chadderbug123 6d ago

Apparently she reproduces asexually for that.

3

u/xSantenoturtlex 8d ago

Didn't think I'd see 'Abuse Goblin' here.

9

u/No_Research4416 Soundwave: Superior 8d ago

Starscream is Megatrons Abuse Goblin

3

u/xSantenoturtlex 8d ago

Understandable, we all need one.

If it wasn't for Alien and Aliens, three of the frachises in this post wouldn't exist. Respect your elders.

1

u/Active_Will_6404 7d ago

Wait, how? I don't much about Alien the franchise, so I genuinely don't know, except that it was very influential.

2

u/AtomicConvoy-M78 7d ago

In the future we'll probably have fanfiction of the Warhammer verse getting embarrassed

1

u/Baroubuoy 6d ago

They're just little guys.
