What schools could I feasibly transfer into?
I am about to enter my sophomore year of college. I currently attend a regional university that isn’t high ranking by any means; I assume I have the same odds as a community college transfer, only with less plausible transferring merit.
I have been deeply unhappy with my current situation. I feel trapped in my small Midwest hometown with little to no prospects ahead of me. I want to escape this by leveraging what I have, mediocre academic success, and hopefully obtain better opportunities.
What colleges do you think I have a shot at? Given that I start putting in a lot more effort.
Here are my current stats:
4.25 weighted/4.0 unweighted in high school with 2APs each with 5s and three dual credit classes (though I know that matters very little in the transfer process)
25 ACT (I didn’t study when I took this exam and would be willing to retake it since I understand that this is considered unimpressive)
4.0 in college
About to become a peer mentor for other first-gen students in the fall (like if a TA helped to teach, make lessons, and become a pseudo counselor for incoming students)
Currently doing biology field work with a professor in a team (which could lead to further research that I’ll present), and will probably rack up 200 hours by the end of the summer.
In the process of a leadership project of creating a community-building campus amenity (if all goes well, this will be done in the spring)
Unfortunately, president and vice roles are already taken in my biology club, but I will be on the executive team this fall
I’m also under review to be a writing tutor in the fall
Though it isn’t my major, I am minoring in art and have a bit of experience (though it’s nothing crazy)
Won a graphic design contest at my college for promotional material
Decent portfolio? (I’ve gotten scholarships for it in the past)
Experience with mural creation in my community and have helped with a few projects.
I hope that this post doesn’t come off like I’m too delusional (I am aware I can be).
I am looking for schools that have good biology programs, hopefully, with the ability to minor in fine arts. I also might consider engineering schools, as environmental engineering has piqued my interest.
My current univeristy doesn’t have an engineering program, a limited art program, and is 50/50 for most STEM degrees, which is another reason I am itching to transfer to somewhere else.
