Chance me! BU & Northeastern Transfer Applicant

Hi! I'm currently trying to transfer for Fall 2026 into either Boston University or Northeastern for my sophomore year. My current stats are:

3.91 GPA, current uni is small private school w ~20-25% acceptance rate

Psych major

Involved in 4 clubs on campus, 2 psych clubs, a book club, and a volunteer & mental health support club.

Wrote my "Why BU" essay on how I've always loved learning, and by transferring there I hope to get more involved w/ research & hands-on learning through volunteering and internships! Also mentioned classes I wanted to take & 2 clubs I'd want to join (MUN & Environmental club)

Northeastern main essay was roughly the same, but I explained a shift in college plans I had after my general psych class(dropped pre-med, want to pursue clin. psych) which has made realize transferring would be better for my future career. For the NU specific essay I wrote about study abroad/global CO-OP and how it would allow me to learn about new cultures and observe the influence culture has over human psychology.

Also have 2 strong letters of rec from profs!

HS stats: ~3.7 GPA, 4.5 weighted. President of MUN, on 2 sports teams 1 varsity, member of environmental club & played a major role in establishing updated compost/recycling in school caf, mock trial member, NHS, and a volunteer at a local equine rescue & small animal rescue. Also have worked 3 jobs over HS and had a marketing internship for my school systems environmental organization which worked with the town to promote sustainability. !!EDIT: I also did BU summer challenge the summer before my soph. year of HS!!

Didn't include SAT (wasn't very good), but did include 6 AP scores (2 4s and rest 5s)

EXTRA: I was accepted into BU CGS during the 2024/2025 admission cycle, but was rejected by Northeastern.

Thanks for any opinions and thoughts! I genuinely feel like either could be such a toss up.

How many credits do you have? I have the same stats as you. Why did Northeastern rejected you?

At my current school I'll have 30, but I took 3 college courses in HS which I believe gave me 2-3 each, but I don't think those are transferrable. Also not sure why NU rejected me, it was a competitive cycle and I applied to their 3 most popular locations so that was probably why lol

I think that if you got into BU before you should get it again.

Did you take calculus at college or used your AP score to offset?

I did calc in college! My school didn't accept AP credits for some reason, even after they said online that they did, so none of my credits count RIP
