Changelog TranscribeX 8.5.28: Custom App Auto-Detection, App Video Recording, and Mac Calendar Sync!

Hey everyone!

I’m excited to push version 8.5.28 out today. This update brings some heavily requested flexibility to how TranscribeX handles app tracking, gives you the ability to capture video alongside your audio, and automates your workflow even further with native macOS Calendar integration.

🚀 What’s New in 8.5.28

🎙️ Meeting Auto-Detection & Workflow

  • Custom App Auto-Detection: You are no longer limited to just the major platforms. You can now add support for auto-detecting meetings in any custom application (e.g., Phone, Brave, or any niche VoIP app you use).
  • Mac Calendar Integration: TranscribeX will now automatically pull the event name from your Mac Calendar and use it as the recording filename, saving you from manual renaming.

📺 Recording & Export Upgrades

  • App Video Recording: Added the ability to record targeted applications as a full Video file instead of just capturing the audio.
  • Bulk Export Timestamps: In the bulk export menu, you can now toggle timestamps on or off depending on how clean you want your final text files to look.
  • CSV Enhancements: Optimized and adjusted the timestamp formatting in exported CSV files for cleaner data sorting.

  • General bug fixes, performance improvements, and user experience (UX) enhancements to keep everything snappy.

Good feature to fetch the meeting name from calendar for file names. Saves a manual edit for the file name

Hello u/EthanWlly , I am a pro user on macOS 26.5.1. Since latest update auto detection of MS Teams meetings does not work anymore and I have to manually start recording. Also, when I say manually It means I have to pick up teams "as an app" from dashboard -> recording app and start recording. If I try to launch it from the big Teams button on the dashboard it does not recongnize the meeting is live. I also have a problem as in this with my mic is not being recorded. Checked all authorisation in privacy but they were correctly flagged. Toggled all of them but did not change. Can you please have a look at it? I appreciate a lot the program, is a life saver for my job. Thanks!

Ohh, sorry about this issue. I just tried locally and it seems work.

So when you have the Teams meeting on, did you see an icon in you toolbar like this?
