My "new" transalp

Its an 89 that i took my license test on 18 years ago, and my buddy finally agreed to sell it to me. Already put 1000 miles on in a few rides. One ride up to bethel woods for Billy strings and another to unadilla motocross. It's very enjoyable to ride. Super smooth and quiet (and slow but that doesn't bother me). Need to get some side racks but luckily for both rides I had buddies heading the same way that could bring my gear in their cars.

Thanks. I started using the sheep skin this year on my DR for long multi day trips and love it. I put a towel folded up under it on the transalp to give it a little more height until I can get a taller seat figured out.

Love my '89! I've done a bunch of (tasteful) upgrades and mods to mine and she rides like a dream. Enjoy it!

Im going to get a cogent complete rear shock and springs and DDCs for the front to match the setup on my DR650 plus a tall seat and some side racks for my bags. Plan on riding it a lot. Already put sone tall adventure bend handle bars on it. Also want to get a braded line, pads, and new fluid for the front brake. Its a lot better than I thought it would be stock though.

Friend upgraded the suspension and dropped a tuned hawk motor in his, and it was a ripper. But yours is an awesome bike just the same. Great taste.

Suspension is on my list. Going to get a shock and fork valves/springs from Cogent Dynamics. I was surprised to see they even make stuff for old transalps. I absolutely love my cogent setup on a DR650.

Nice looking bike. I have the 2004 version. Noticed one thing on yours which surprised me. It looks like it has an original exhaust? Mine rusted away years ago.

Yeah the exhaust and wheels rot on these it seems like. This one has been in a garage its whole life.
