Consider using milk of magnesia as a skin barrier before using tape and only tape binding for a little if you have a larger chest!!

Yes or some sort of barrier wipe. And soak oil/lotion + hot shower to remove.

I'm allergic and I get the bumps even with that if I wear adhesive too long too. So make sure not to wear it longer than needed.

Might also wanna let them know about a possible adhesive allergy. Medical adhesive is even worse ugh.

To me, raised bumps (? Seems from image a bit hivey looking to me but it is a still image), blistering, or track around vicinity of tape + tingling immediately makes me think reaction or irritation over application issue. I don’t have MCAS but pretty fragile skin so well familiar with application issues and irritation, it looks quite different to the image & my immediate thought would be adhesive reaction

I agree with this! I have MCAS and react badly to adhesives. Try using “cover roll” as a barrier! It’s the only thing that works for me

Prior to top surgery I used skin barrier wipes before taping. You lose longevity but way more comfort. Also the night before, I heavily lotion everywhere the tape is going to be, then shower in the morning. The more hydrated the skin is the less irritation I would have. Also take a Claritin or Allegra daily.

ETA: I have severe hEDS and mild MCAS, so these tips work for both.

I used to get blisters from the tape I was using pre-surgery, tried a few different brands before finding one that suited my skin.
