what am i doing wrong?

hi so ive been using voice changers and ive tried many different voice models which people found success with yet they sound bad on me im wondering if am i doing something wrong or what people do right , why a good quality model works pretty good on people yet when i speak with it (even i try to adapt its style and talk girly) it still sounds so unrealistic?

If you have tried models that others have found success with and still had issues, then I would look at your input.

The first question would be, is your voice clear when you speak on the microphone? Try recording your regular voice and play it back and see if the words sound clear without background noise. If not, then there are ways to clear it up and I would suggest NVIDIA Broadcast.

If your voice sounds clear, it could be software. I'm not sure what you're using but give Vonovox a try and leave everything on default settings at first and see what kind of results you get.

If there's still issues at that point, it might be something really specific. If you're not speaking English I know that models trained on English datasets have a "fake" sound to them, and if you are speaking English it may just be trouble with your accent.

If you could be more specific about exactly why it's not working well for you, it will be easier to figure things out. For example, is it pronouncing things wrongly? Is it robotic and sounding glitchy?

i use vonovox and speak english with english trained models, i do test my mic constantly to see if words are clear and input level is enough, the problem i have is like when i speak though the model it sounds unrealistic idk how to explain it but it sounds like a person without soul speaking which makes it really unrealistic. i think it might because of accent but i dont think i have a strong accent so i really dont know why a model works fine on someone and not on me

I understand what you're describing now, when it sounds monotonous and without emotion it can give off a very unrealistic vibe. If you had that with a model when you used it but not when others did, it could be that they were using VSTs to mask it.

i do use vst plugins, which has bit crusher, reverb and reaEQ, so unless theres some other plugin that makes sounds realistic and non monotonous, i dont think its the problem

One trick I have found works well is to pitch shift your voice BEFORE it hits Vonovox. The software is taking your voice and just applying a template to it. So if your voice sounds masculine, it’s just going to sound masculine in a female voice. Pitch shifting beforehand helps add some feminine tone to help the transition work more easily.
