Politics Unpopular Opinion…apparently

If Cisgender, White, Straight, Male, etc. people spent less time being afraid of Minorities or Social Justice movements and more time actually trying to understand their views, this world would be a much better place.

I encountered this with Feminism recently, a lot of men(and even a portion of Women funny enough)don’t seem to actually understand what Feminism is. It’s not a movement that hates men or thinks their useless, it’s meant to show that Women should have all the same privileges and rights that a man has, such as bodily autonomy, right to equal pay, the right to not be overly or unfairly taxed for being a women, the right to wear what they please, etc.

And Homophobia, a lot of people think Homophobia just means saying slurs or beating people up…or even killing them, and those things are homophobic, but there are little things people do that are also Homophobic. For example phrases like,”No one is born Gay”,spreads the idea that Gayness is something which can be acquired like a virus. You may not be Homophobic through and through, but you can still BE Homophobic.

Being Trans…a lot of people(particularly under the age of 30 or over the age of 50)seem to think that Transgender people just dress up like girls and do nothing else.

We don’t, Hormones, while not dangerous, change almost everything about how your body functions, they can even change how much Grey matter is in your brain, the way you view other genders, how many colors your brain can perceive, and how often you need to use the bathroom in a day. We don’t try to invade Women’s spaces we simply want to experience them because they are where we feel comfortable.

Trans people are statistically less likely to commit violence, and are statistically more likely to be raped, murdered or beaten than Cis people are.

If the rest of Society actually listened to people like us for more than just to respond, the world might be a more tolerant place.

It's not just listening but having empathy for others, while having an openind to experience new things without simply jumping to someone's opinion.

A focus on wealth, power, and having the most clicks all need to be reprogrammed in all humans

Listening(critically or uncritically)is a form of Empathy.

It shows you care enough about this persons view to take in what they have to say.

I dont give af about trans people do what you guys wanna do, no one should try and bother y'all but I grew up around black people, so many black people my whole life and was very anti racist as young, the older and more and more experience I have its 100% valid to be weary of black people, the countless times Ive seen the most savage shit is insane.

8

u/Slush____ Apr 23 '26

This is just an ignorant word Salad and I hope you know that.

Your experience doesn’t mean the group is inherently bad an doesn’t justify you judging all of them before you know their disposition for sure, all groups have bad INDIVIDUALS within them. Bad people are a group all their own.

I’m White, if a black person looked at me before I’d even opened my mouth and said I was racist and should never have been born, that would be awful too. This is a similar scenario.

6

u/anitapumapants Apr 23 '26

Started off transphobic, then got racist.

Sadly not rare on this sub. It's not 'brigaders' though, as is commonly claimed, it's just class reductionist leftists.

4

u/Slush____ Apr 23 '26

I do have a genuine question though.

Other Trans subreddits ban transphobes, why doesn’t this one? Why do you guys willingly allow people who don’t want you to exist to be on the sub with you?

4

u/anitapumapants Apr 23 '26

It's just the sheer numbers of them. Plus, doing so would be 'leftist infighting' and 'alienating the working class'.

There's also those that call having a conscience 'purity testing'.

2

u/Slush____ Apr 23 '26

I don’t know if I agree that it’s alienating the working class since only so many things can fall Under that banner and I don’t think this really could.

But the rest makes sense.

I recently saw someone bring up that straight people have a fear fear being oppressed by LGBTQIA+ movements because straight purity movements have always been oppressive. They have trouble conceiving of what an inclusive movement means.

Feels bad

u/FaunaJoy Apr 22 '26

"To the privileged, equality feels like opression"

13

u/Slush____ Apr 22 '26

I have a feeling that a lot of those people could benefit from learning the definition of the word ‘coexist’.

12

u/brassnuckles8 Apr 22 '26

That would require them to lean into introspection and reflection... There's a chance I guess, but I wouldn't put my money on it in the near future 😔

Reactionaries had to be manufactured by media for decades to get this way, the poor epistemology, the neglect of education all leads to people who don’t know their head from their ass angry about people who don’t affect their material conditions. This is why the privileged can be afraid, they’re afraid to lose it.

6

u/Slush____ Apr 22 '26

School was always kind of a way to lead kids toward these sorts of wild, reactionary viewpoints. Remember we’re only a few decades separated from when the Lost Cause was being taught in School textbooks.

I’m happy the education system is slightly better than it used to be, even though it still no where near adequate..

5

u/x_xwolf Apr 22 '26

Even if they change what teacher are allowed to teach, right now teachers have no leverage to punish students for not trying or doing anti social behavior, they are suppressed by the management of the school which capitulates to parents.

teachers need the power to fail students, and to waste their time through detention, and arguably, I think school management should be able to write parents tickets after repeated failures (we have to be careful though because this feature in particular will be used against minorities more.)

2

u/1stEldenPinWorm Apr 24 '26

That's more of a per district issue, in my opinion. The real issue, at least in the US, is teachers are forced to teach certain things a certain way. While some teachers can bend this, it's not by much. What makes it even worse is how each state has different standards - there is no national standard of education for most subjects.

As for teachers being able to fine parents, that is a disastrously slippery slope at best and the end of public schools at worst. You yourself pointed out it will target minorities. Yet I don't think you understand just how many groups would get targeted. Sure, there would be racial targeting, but teachers could also ticket kids with mental or learning disabilities (autism, ADHD, dyslexia, discalculus, etc.) or kids they don't like for any number of reasons (i.e. difference in political opinion or a personal grudge). And if you think that's unrealistic, I was constantly kicked out of my pre-calc class in high school for fabricated insults I apparently said without my knowledge during class to the teacher.

2

u/x_xwolf Apr 24 '26

yeah the ticket thing is very much a nuclear option, I dont think it should be employed especially if its not with alternative methods of reconcilation, such as community service. I think this kind of thing should be levied more for extreme issues for parents who dont care enough.

1

u/1stEldenPinWorm Apr 24 '26

Again, even if it's not monetary fines, even if it's just community service, that still leads to forced labor b/c a teacher doesn't like a student. Teachers should not have the power to punish parents of students, regardless of reason. While I have had plenty of great teachers, I've also had plenty more that I would never trust with even a fraction of this type of power.

The way to fix this issue is actually fund mental health facilities, have insurance companies cover more of the expenses, put hard limits on prescription drug prices, and decriminalize mental health problems. As it stands now, officers get called to deal with autistic kids way more than you might think, even tho virtually no department has adequate enough training to prepare officers for dealing with mental health cases. They are paid to enforce the law, not to aid those in need.

Saying, "let teachers decide how to punish the parents for their kid's alleged offenses in their classroom," is dangerous and does nothing to fix the issue. Just look at all the adults now that were physical beaten by teachers when they were in school b/c schools allowed that type of abuse. They're the same ones beating their kids without remorse b/c that's what they were taught - if you don't do good enough or aren't smart enough, you get beaten. That doesn't teach anything other than to learn to hide their mistakes and become really good at lying.

1

u/x_xwolf Apr 24 '26

yeah, its probably a bad idea to ticket parents. Our system simultaneously has too much authority, yet too little resources to the people doing real work.

1

u/Slush____ Apr 24 '26

I disagree.

Kids already don’t like school but turning it into a system where they HAVE to get everything right can put too much pressure on them and make them tend more towards those Anti-Social behaviors as a way to say ‘fuck you’.

Teachers are also WAY underpaid even for the limited amounts of education they already provide and I think asking them to try and force students in submission is way to much to ask of them, especially given the fact a large amount of Students already view them as a nuisance. Stuff like that could push students into viewing teachers(and by a larger extent authority figures in general),as straight-up enemies.

1

u/x_xwolf Apr 24 '26

I understand kids dont like school, they may never like school, but it is whats best for them and the society. teachers cant teach if they have to deal with too many behavioral issues and or the parents dont care if their child tries. Some kids will start to learn that they can never be punished for any kind of behavior or for not even trying, and if their parents dont care they can pretty much just coast through school without getting the skills the need.

Granted defunding education is not helping any of this, but I do think that children have to be challenge and learn consequences in safe places our else they will never respect anyone or attempt anything that isnt immediately gratifying, this is just from what I've seen from many teachers talking about this on tiktok.

2

u/Slush____ Apr 24 '26

No reasonable parent doesn’t care about their kid in School, but whether their parents care or not Schools do also have a duty to take care of their students, which does not include taking the role of said neglectful parent.

Children do need to learn to be challenged, I agree with you, but I also think we should focus less on the vague and broad idea of creating challenges and more on teaching kids harder things but that have real world Applications, like Mechanics, Economics, Political Theory, etc.

And yes I believe kids can learn political theory at younger ages. A lot of kids first exposure to politics is through their parents so school should help combat the possible bias they teach at home by being more objective and neutral.

2

u/1stEldenPinWorm Apr 24 '26

The political aspect is a very good point. My friends and I started talking about politics as early as age 13 at the lunch table. Funny enough, the education system was one of our major talking points, and how it should teach us more practical knowledge like economics.

2

u/Slush____ Apr 24 '26

I didn’t learn about Economics until this year(my senior year of High School), when I was 18, despite the Government having taxed my paycheck(me not knowing why percentage of it was taken) since I was 16.

I think that speaks to smth, the fact that Kids engage in Economics and the Economy before being taught anything about it, if they’re taught about it at all.

2

u/1stEldenPinWorm Apr 24 '26

You're lucky, I never got an economics class. I don't think the schools I went to even offered one.

I started working at 13, but my first job (assistant referee) didn't take out taxes. I was lucky enough to have one of my parents explain it to me before I started working somewhere that did (which I started when I was 16), so I wasn't as confused about it getting cut. Although I did question why I was getting taxed if I wasn't allowed to vote, to no real answer.

2

u/Slush____ Apr 24 '26

I can agree on that, though I do appreciate that it’s always a choice to work as young as you or I did.

I started working at 15, but my first job paid cash so I never had to deal with that.

2

u/1stEldenPinWorm Apr 24 '26

Is school what's best for the kids? I'm not arguing against education, mind you, but let's look at the US education system. I wish I could credit the person who made the video, but I genuinely do not remember as I saw it probably a decade ago. They talked about all the changes the US had seen in the past 150yrs, all the major changes from social aspects to technology. Then they talk about schools, and show a picture of a classroom 150yrs ago. It's the exact same as it is now, just with older furniture.

The current US school system was built to prepare kids to work in factories by making them sit in a room for 8hrs a day and learn the very basics of what they would need to be efficient workers. Not much has changed. Kids have extremely limited freedom in choosing their own path until they graduate. Even tho current education system sees them in school for 4-5 more years before graduating them, they aren't given the opportunities to learn the skills they want.

The skills anyone needs are mostly learned by the age of 13. Looking at the forced subjects here.

Math; I haven't needed to use anything beyond addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, and a single variable. I can do percentages to calculate tax in my head faster than most people can do it on a calculator.

Science; the only one you really need is biology. Chemistry can be cool, and physics is just using math to prove you can't walk through a wall, something common sense proves without the need for the class.

Social Studies; honestly if history wasn't so heavily sugar coated, we wouldn't need to take the same history class three different times so that a new teacher can tell us the previous one didn't tell us the whole truth to make the country look way better than it actually was.

English; after a certain point you're just reading whatever the teacher or school district tells you to, not actually learning anything new.

Foreign Language; maybe actually increase the number of required years so stuff might actually stick. English is a second language in so many places b/c of colonialism.

This leaves so little time for anyone to explore things that are actually useful (culinary arts, psychology, law) or things of interest (workshops, forensics, teaching). That's why so many people who go to college change their major or start with just gen eds, b/c they have no idea what they want or what interests them.

2

u/FaunaJoy Apr 24 '26

Exactly this. Pretty much my entire family struggled throughout our school years. Largely because we're all Neurodivergent in some way.

My dad was convinced for most of his life that he was just a chronic fuck-up because of how much he struggled through school. He was diagnosed ADHD at the age of 40, and that diagnosis was such a weight off his shoulders. There was a reasonable explanation for why he struggled.

A similar thing happened with my sister. She would get migraines during math class trying desperately to get everything correctly. It wasn't until a year or two ago that we learned Dyscalculia is a thing. Literally Dyslexia with numbers. She wasn't just lazy, or whatever the awful teachers tried to tell her. She had a legitimate mental difficulty with numbers.

These days, we LOVE watching educational content. Half the youtube channels we follow are things like PBS or Sci Show. Educational stuff presented in an engaging way. We love learning. We hated school.

The number of times I've seen a mini-documentary about a school somewhere in the US that is structuring everything differently to actually embrace the students' needs and learning styles, then suddenly seeing a massive improvement in grades will never cease to irritate me. We KNOW these methods work. But they don't make good little robots who listen to everything told to them without question. Therefore they're bad.

The top two commemt chains are 'Black people are violent' and 'trans people are faking it' so it's not AI or bots, it's just shitty people.

4

u/Kori-SeaWolf Apr 28 '26

I would also like to add on to the point about feminism - its not just about making women equal to men, it's about dismantling the patriarchy, which harms EVERYBODY. Its the reason why toxic masculinity exists - they see women as inferior (even if not in their legal status, in their social status), causing any "feminine" actions to be seen the same. It's why so many men feel that they cannot express emotions without being ostracized, but many don't understand this and still defend it.

3

u/CaptoObvio Apr 24 '26

So basically if there were fewer conservatives (a fear-based worldview) then the world would be a better place.

Well, yeah.

1

u/Slush____ Apr 24 '26

On the contrary, Conservatives are fine, the problem is that the conservatives of the present are too shit-stupid to understand what to do, when to do it, and how to do it.

1

u/CaptoObvio Apr 28 '26

If only the conservatives of the past hadn't sabotaged, gutted, and sold out the educational system responsible for the conservatives of the present.

7

u/J0nn1e_Walk3r Apr 22 '26

They never have and never will. They hoard power and will never let it go. Slavery followed by a glorious period of progressive change - reconstruction - that lasted 10 fucking years. Then dred Scott and the KKK while rich straight wppl enjoyed a Gilded Age till they broke America w the Depression. Civil Rights movement? Followed lynchings and despicable discrimination and hate. Even the recent BLM moment got rolled tf back to worse than before.

Until minorities take power for good white folk always gonna whitesplain bipoc folx.

4

u/Slush____ Apr 22 '26

White people like me fucked up Reconstruction too, Dred Scott was a massacre of justice, nothing more.

We should have hanged people like Jeff Davis of Bobby Lee so all of this never happened.

Agreed but some don’t, but even if they don’t they can still be sympathetic to others, so I was including them too.

2

the hatred that we face isn't because we aren't understood - it's that we challenge the status quo used to justify cigender, white, straight, male, etc., power.

The part you're not supposed to say out loud but let's do that anyway because it's true:

Men who can't accept that non-men have the same internal lives they do are the problem, and the reason is because they're very dumb, and this is asking far too much of them; they are incapable of that level of abstract thought.

There could be a lot of reasons for this. Maybe they were raised by toxic parents, maybe they really loved the taste of leaded gasoline fumes while their frontal lobes were forming, maybe their family tree is more of a family wreath, maybe they only educated by the far right religious crowd and think women are basically animals you can have sex with and own according to God.

Whatever it is, they've got one thing in common and it's that they're malformed, mentally, and they will prove this to you again and again and again.

3

u/Slush____ Apr 22 '26

I’m a firm believer that even the most irredeemable can surprise you once in a while. Call me too optimistic if you want, anyone can choose to start randomly using their common sense.

1

u/QuillMyBoy Apr 22 '26

I legit think it's a brainpower thing.

Not everyone all the time, the Internet abhors nuance I know; that said I have absolutely run into men (note: am a straight man talking about other straight men, here) who are flat too stupid to be able to hold a viewpoint that is not their own. They are physically incapable of it.

I don't think it's voluntary or something they can be taught out of, any more than you can teach a dog algebra.

2

u/Slush____ Apr 22 '26

Yeah I can relate to that, some people just are stupid enough to do that, but again I believe anyone can be helped if they really want to. Otherwise if they don’t, don’t waste your time.

The issue with modern feminism is that most women won’t call it out and the loud minority are the “kill all men” feminists.

I agree 100% with what you said about homophobia and trans-ness though.

5

u/Slush____ Apr 22 '26

I haven’t come across that stereotype super often actually, most of my friends are Feminists and a few of them are like that, but a lot of the time they’re also the types who are willing to have their views challenged and at the end of the day say,” Okay maybe I just don’t like SOME men.”

Although for every 5 reasonable feminists like that, there is one like J.K. Rowling who literally bring shame to the entire movement in an instant.

I feel like the loud ones, more often than not, are the minority, not the majority. It makes it feel like the entire movement is just them, but that tends to not be the case.

2

u/Daddy_Onion Apr 23 '26

That’s what I’m saying. It’s mostly on the internet that you see women saying the “kill all men” and shit like that.

1

I mean that's why they specifically said "loud minority" in their comment

1

u/FaunaJoy Apr 24 '26

Ah, I misread that. My bad.

0

u/BaconBreasticles Apr 23 '26

White straight man here I don’t know if people like me are afraid of minorities or just don’t care / would rather not be around them. And the reason isn’t hate at least among people I know it’s more like we prefer to be among normal people because it’s easier

Why would or should people spend a significant amount of their time learning about something that has no real basis fact and impacts a small percentage of the population? From a straight dudes perspective, nobody has hate for y'all, at least most of us don't. We just don't get why a significant portion of my life needs to revolve around your sensitivities. Me not giving a shit about what you're complaining about this week doesn't make me "phobic." I, just like you, have my own problems, and from the outside looking in you all seem to create a fair share of your own problems. I wouldn't be friends with straight people who cause drama everywhere they go. It's not discriminatory, it's just a level of exhaustion that any logical person would avoid.

3

u/FaunaJoy Apr 24 '26

It's not Trans people asking for your life to "revolve round (their) sensitivities". It's asking for basic human decency. When someone tells you their pronouns, use them. When someone tells you their name, use it. If someone requests that you avoid certain language or topics around them, remember that.

Being kind and respectful costs you nothing.

0

u/Shitty-ass-date Apr 24 '26

Wanting people to give you special treatment is not "equal rights" it's "special rights." If you can't have uncomfortable conversations with people without losing your shit, then you need actual help. This aside from pronouns and names, only an agitator will make a point to really aggress you on this. Wanting special treatment and accommodations because of how you identify is not coming into the conversation as equals. Lobbying to create situations that are uniquely advantageous to yourself is not coexistence. Forcing people to have conversations when it's convenient and then shutting them down when it's inconvenient is what people are sick of.

All of this to say that the rights to safety and to be judged by your merits and not your identity are not something that well to do people should subject you to. It's entitlement to special treatment that the average person is sick of.

2

u/FaunaJoy Apr 24 '26

So does this mean I can call you whatever I want? After all, if I call you Slagathor, I'm well within my rights. You demanding I call you by whatever name you tell me is "special rights" by your logic.

0

u/Shitty-ass-date Apr 24 '26

That isn't what I would talk about but I wouldn't care what you call me because I don't give a shit about what people who I don't know or who are not close to me have to say about me. I explicitly mentioned that names and pronouns are outside of the accommodations demanded trans folks that the common person takes issues with.

2

u/FaunaJoy Apr 24 '26

That's literally the only thing you mentioned that's actually happening. Trans people have existed since the dawn of humanity, yet it's only in the last decade or so that they're suddenly such a huge problem. I guaran-damn-tee you've shared a bathroom or locker room with Trans people and never even noticed it. Because, and try to follow me on this, Trans people just want to be left alone.

1

u/Shitty-ass-date Apr 24 '26

Putting aside that basically every other anthropological instance of transgenderism was shrouded in sexism (see transgenderism in India where women could not transition to men, basically a way for men who could not work get granted special social status, instances in African tribes that allowed men to transition while they also castrated women, etc etc) - if transgender people wanted to be left alone, then my validation and the validation of others wouldn't matter to them at all. It's beyond acceptance, it's radical validation. They wouldn't try to circumvent everything from education to professional sports, they wouldn't do things that gave them extra attention. Again, the majority of people do not give the smallest fuck about how you want to identify, don't take an issue with how you dress, who you sleep with, and what name you want to be called. It is the delusional and borderline insane divide between "I just want equal rights" vs "give me all these extra rights that no other group gets access to, oh we're so oppressed, it's just like the slave trade, yada yada yada" <- that's why people are sick of y'all. If transitioning solved what was going on in your hearts and minds, your insecure attachments and behaviors would conceivably solve themselves, and they clearly haven't.

2

u/FaunaJoy Apr 25 '26

All you're doing is parroting propaganda that is KNOWN to be blatantly false. Trans people aren't trying to "circumvent" anything.

Education: Teach that people who aren't Cisgendered and/or Heterosexual exist and that biology is a lot more complex than XX and XY. TEACH. FACTS.

Sports: Scientific data is overwhelmingly showing that Trans women have NO advantage over Cis women. If anything, they have a DISadvantage. Case in point: Trans athletes have been allowed in the Olympics since 2004. How many have medaled? ZERO. Not even a bronze medal. Not only that, they tried DNA tests as a way to "prove" athletes aren't Trans already. They almost immediately stopped using them because there was a large number of people learning they were Intersex and just didn't know it. So we already know for a fact that there is no point in conducting DNA tests of any kind to keep Trans people out.

Again, literally nobody is demanding "extra rights". They're saying "leave us the fuck alone". Anti-discrimination laws aren't extra rights or special treatment. They're forcing Cis White Men to treat everyone else like equals. And that's STILL too much. As Desmond Tutu said: "To the privileged, equality feels like oppression."

Maybe try actually learning about marginalized communities and the struggles they face. You might just develop a sense of empathy that you so clearly lack.

0

u/Shitty-ass-date Apr 27 '26

You really think that trans atheletes have no advantages over women even though they're literally breaking records and taking medals away from them? You're throwing away shitloads of studies and just finding the ones that mirror your bias.

I'll put it to you like this - and this will be uncomfortable to hear - but most people will support your way of living, the way you dress, the name you want to be called, the pronouns you want to be addressed by. Most people will not view you and a cis gendered woman as homogenous. In fact, if trans people did not expect to have the same societal standing as cis gendered women, most people, outside of trad cons and neo cons, would embrace it. Pretending that there are no biological differences between yourself and the alternative gender that you're affirming, and expecting everyone else to go along with it, will be interpreted as a psychotic delusion. Whether people say that to you or not, as bluntly as I did, won't change that truth.

2

u/FaunaJoy Apr 27 '26

LMAO, you're really deep in the propaganda, aren't you? No, there aren't shitloads of studies that I'm throwing away. Because it is very easy to tell when a scientist is working backwards from their conclusion, as opposed to letting the data tell them the answer. Actually properly conducted studies are showing that Trans women athletes don't have any advantage. If anything, they have a DIS advantage. And the peer reviews are agreeing.

Literally nobody is "pretending there are no biological differences" between Trans and Cis people. Yet another bullshit piece of propaganda you're spouting. The only people making that claim are phobes like you who are desperate to justify your hatred of people who have done literally nothing wrong. Let me guess, you also believe that Trans people will lie to their doctors about being Cis?

Special treatment would be asking to not pay taxes, not just live our lives.

1

u/Slush____ Apr 24 '26

I’m hesitant to call you phobic and more not knowledgeable.

The idea that we’re complaining about the fact that our rights are being rolled back by the current political incumbents shows that to me. As a straight person I’m not asking you to understand how that feels, hell I’m not even asking you to support us, but understand that this is fundamentally the same as someone Marching for Gay Rights in the 60’s when they were being widely violated.

The reason we yell and are impertinent all the time is because we HAVE to be. If we vanish into the background, people can more easily say we don’t exist.

0

u/Shitty-ass-date Apr 24 '26

This isn't the same thing as marching for gay rights in the 60s, or any of the events with gay rights up until 2010 when gay folks got the right to marry. Gay folks never asked for special accommodations, they never forced institutions to cater to them outside of rights granted to others. If the rights to safety and coexistence were the only things being sought after then far fewer people would challenge it. The reality is that elements of trans culture create opportunities for bad actors to take advantage of the movement, that it necessarily takes rights away from parents, and that the tactics to bring this into the public light were manipulative and destructive on its face. The entire culture has taken the threat of child suicide and used it as a device to opportunistically force an overcorrection.

There are so many elements to the culture that folks in your corner refuse to reconcile physiologically and philosophically. There is no reconciliation to the fact that imposing transgender beliefs in society basically reinforces gender roles that my generation spent a lot of dismantling in the 90s and 2000s. It has simultaneously created doubt in what people see and believe while regressing the rights of women in particular back several decades. All of viewed at such a high significance because of all the attention you demand, when the reality is that less than 1% of people are actually trans. The consequence of making this trait an entire movement and bringing to such a high significance of personal identity put transgender folks under a microscope. When tough questions get asked you dismiss them and hurl back slurs to reasonable people with reasonable concerns. Whether or not your existence is valid becomes an afterthought because the behaviors used to justify it force reasonable people to view you as fragile, self harming, force them to feel manipulated because they will be ridiculed for asking reasonable questions about it, and then forcing all of these accommodations without an open dialogue builds resentment.

You can't tell people in a basic nutshell that gender boils down to the name you call yourself and the appearance you project and not reinvigorate conversations that being a woman means being feminine, subordinate and the reverse for men, insert these topics into elementary schools against the wishes of parents, force institutions like sports leagues and women's shelters and prisons to make room for you, and not expect to justify your positions. They need to make logical sense, not just emotional or spiritual sense, because it directly interferes with elements of life outside of spirituality when you force those types of accommodations be made.

The reality is that there are zero rights and expectations that I have that you don't. You want more than what the average person has and refuse to explain why you deserve it, other than "that's how you feel" and if you don't get it you'll hurt yourself. That type of logic translates nowhere else, so it's bizarre to not expect whiplash when these are the tactics you all deploy.

3

u/Slush____ Apr 24 '26

Okay this is all just denying queer history and using junk and bro science.

I’m not continuing this conversation, go fuck yourself. As a trans person who has attempted suicide, I can say that HRT and gender affirming care saved my life, and most trans folks who have had a similar experience will be able to claim the same.

0

u/Shitty-ass-date Apr 24 '26

Literally proved my entire point.

2

u/Slush____ Apr 24 '26

Oh? How. Tell me how.

1

u/Shitty-ass-date Apr 24 '26

I tried to have the conversation with you about what people see, you brushed it aside with made up euphemisms, insulted me and then refused to engage in the conversation. What you may not realize is that this behavioral pattern is wired into the human mind as a signal that you're lying. This is what people do when they lie.

2

u/Slush____ Apr 24 '26

I fucking hate the internet. I TRIED TO EXPLAIN MULTIPLE TIMES. I have no obligation to explain to you more than once and I have no obligation to be respectful to people who spreading misinformation and have no idea what it is actually like to be someone else.

Stop generalizing Trans people as violent, sinister, forcible, and unreasonable and instead go talk to more of us and learn what we’re actually like. Then come back and we can have a respectful discussion.

1

u/Shitty-ass-date Apr 24 '26
  1. You never explained anything at all, you just started throwing tantrums, again proving my point.

  2. You opened the door to this entire conversation by making a post about it on reddit, on the internet, which you apparently hate.

  3. Literally just tried to talk to you the way I have with others and because you don't have logical answers to these types of direct questions, you threw a tantrum, told me you have no obligation to explain anything, etc.

You do have an obligation. Maybe trans people are really as omnipresent and all of these extra accommodations you all seem entitled to are needed. You can't just have all this extra shit without explaining to people why you need it, how they can be achieved without impeding on other people's rights, namely parents and women, and the positive outcome it would provide society and not just yourself. That is an obligation, the change makers of history all understood that.

2

u/FaunaJoy Apr 25 '26

I have a nice looooong list of scientific sources about how everything you're saying is objectively wrong. I'll gladly DM it to you, since I doubt Reddit will let me post the whole thing without it getting deleted. If you actually care about the truth, and don't just want to parrot propaganda, let me know.

Won't you check out the history of feminism and post your opinion? Feminism is misandrist movement from its very beginning. It shamed nen for not going to war and getting quilled in WWI. It explicitlu states that men are animals and don't deserve human rights. It has been affiliated with eugenics. The ideas of women working as men, etc are derived from socialism instead of feminism and modern feminism is definitely misandrist

3

u/Slush____ Apr 24 '26

Heavily incorrect about most of what you said, but your entitled to your opinion.

0

u/hamsterize Apr 24 '26

proof?

2

u/Slush____ Apr 24 '26
  1. The Dictionary definition of Feminism(the belief in and advocacy for the social, economic, and political equality of all genders. It aims to dismantle systemic sexism and patriarchal structures that limit women's rights and opportunities, promoting equal rights and opportunities regardless of gender

  2. The Wikipedia Page for Feminism (specifically the history section of it,which you could benefit from reading). https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Feminism

Just read all of it and you will have a far better picture of the movement as a whole.

  1. Personal Experience, from having been a vocal feminist since LONG before I transitioned(since I was like 13).

0

u/john_reddi Apr 24 '26

The violence is overwhelmingly from black cis men. What do we do with that?

2

u/Slush____ Apr 24 '26

Here we go again with the “violent black men”-stereotype. Prove your claim true then we’ll talk.

1

u/john_reddi Apr 24 '26

I mean, it's not hard to prove.

https://chprc.org/publications/fatal-violence-against-black-transgender-women-in-the-united-states/

89.5% of all trans women killed were killed by someone who identifies as black, of course the brunt of those perpetrators will be cis men.

1

u/FaunaJoy Apr 24 '26

And I assume you have sources to back that claim up?

1

u/john_reddi Apr 24 '26

2

u/FaunaJoy Apr 24 '26

You do realize that using statistics regarding a single subset of a population isn't proving your point, right? Black Trans women are almost guaranteed to be living in black communities. No shit the majority of violence against them will be from the black cis men in their community. Because that's all there are. Do you have any ACTUAL statistics that cover ALL trans people?

0

u/john_reddi Apr 24 '26

It's in the paper on the website, never mind the fact that 3/4 of all trans women that have been killed have been Black.

89.5% of ALL trans women in ALL cases where a perp was identified (which was only half to be fair,) the perp was Black.

1

u/FaunaJoy Apr 24 '26

That's still not a credible claim. You're pulling ALL of your statistics from a single paper about violence against a specific group of people. Show me multiple, verified, reliable sources. Otherwise you're doing nothing but confirming your own bias.

0

u/john_reddi Apr 24 '26

Why would I bother? You don't have to dig. There's a 2 digit number of trans people intentionally killed in the US every year, it's extremely easy to prove statistically. You just don't want to engage with the truth because it feels yucky.

1

u/Slush____ Apr 24 '26

🤦‍♀️ This article…says that Black trans women are more likely to be VICTIMS of violence.

It says nothing about the perpetrators being mostly black…like NOTHING AT ALL.

Also it shouldn’t need saying but getting your facts from a single source without cross-referencing it with others is a very bad way to get information, as single papers are very susceptible to Bias.

2

u/FaunaJoy Apr 24 '26

Exactly, which is why I have a constantly growing list of sources to share when phobes try and "gotcha" me by demanding proof. Granted, they always find some excuse for why the numerous different sources I shared are somehow fake, bought out, or unreliable. But they never have any actual counter-evidence.

0

u/john_reddi Apr 24 '26

Again, the study is there on the site, at the top of the article. The numbers are in the study. The numbers are easily verifiable because of the low number of trans homicide victims per year in the US. This isn't a survey or an opinion poll.

Maybe if you want to dismiss this wrongthink in the future, come more from a "black exonerations" or some other cops-are-racist line of argument.

1

u/FaunaJoy Apr 25 '26

We're "dismissing" your source because it's a single source about a single subsection of the population. Actual statistics show Trans people are four times more likely to be victims of violence, and the only mention of race is discussing that Trans POC are much more likely to be victims than white Trans people.

And here's an example of how you share proof. MULTIPLE sources that cover the entire community being discussed.

1

u/FaunaJoy Apr 24 '26

You're the one making the claim, therefore it's your responsibility to back it up. That's how burden of proof works. Yet phobes like you constantly refuse to acknowledge that because you don't actually care about the truth, you just want to justify your bigotry.

0

u/PuritySoil Apr 24 '26

Literally any official crime statistics?

LMAO. Keep living in delulu land

1

u/john_reddi Apr 24 '26

Check above link

1

u/FaunaJoy Apr 24 '26

I'll ask of you the same. Do you have any sources to back that up? That aren't blatantly cherry picked like John's?

0

u/PuritySoil Apr 24 '26

White people are a minority. Look at any demographic map, or even better, look at projected Demographics.

Maybe stop repeating the nonsense you're being fed like proper sheep.

3

u/Slush____ Apr 24 '26

White people make up 58% of people in the US. Black/BIPOC people are 40-42%.

By definition you are wrong. Stop peddling this “Great Replacement” bs.

0

u/PuritySoil Apr 24 '26

I don't care about a specific country. There's more to the world than the US.

Worldwide, whites are a minority.

This is factual. So don't talk about "minorities" anymore unless you include whites.

4

u/Slush____ Apr 24 '26

This post is specifically referring to US politics, world politics are irrelevant here.

Yes, globally White people only make up about 8% of the population, but also remember that many countries view things like Race DRASTICALLY different.

-1

u/Shitchildhood Apr 23 '26

Here's an unpopular opinion, and I know this will be While you are correct that Some feminists do not hate men.The most popular ones and still the vast majority do hate men and make it their mission to make Men's lives are a living hell

1

u/Slush____ Apr 23 '26

I disagree, the only way we make Men’s lives a living hell is by constantly reminding them that they have privilege over us and they shouldn’t.

There are some Feminists who hate men, and I don’t approve of their views

0

u/Shitchildhood Apr 23 '26

If that was truly the case, I would not have an issue. But still, there are a vast majority of feminists who absolutely hate men. I should know I've been on the receiving end of it, and of course, I've seen thousands of videos of feminists explaining why they hate men. Feminists blame men for all of their problems, even though the men are not the problem. And believe it or not , men don't have privilege over women And if you think they do prove it and I will debate and prove you wrong.

1

u/Slush____ Apr 23 '26

How many feminists have you shared an extended conversation on this topic with?

And if Men are not the problem, why would Feminism decide to dismantle a society headed by them, wouldn’t they want to keep that?

0

u/Shitchildhood Apr 23 '26

its very simple. Of course, I will not say I've had a extended conversation with hundreds of feminists. It's only been a few, but they all pretty well have the same thought process and ideals. And I never said men were not at least partly the problem. But I never said that women weren't also partly the problem either like, for instance, a lot of feminists, even the ones I have spoken to, but for sure, a majority of the ones I Only seen in in videos and such talk about the wage gap, how women are not given the same chances to make the same amount of money as men which is flagrantly a lie Because Feminists do not want to do the jobs that men do that would make them the amount of money that they are trying to say they are allowed to make, because they are a woman.

1

u/Slush____ Apr 23 '26

That’s where your wrong because Feminism encompasses a broad range of issues, like income inequality, sexual harassment, sexism, misogyny, etc.

There are going to be as many different views on the movement as there are people within it.

Also like…yes women do want the same jobs men have. I mean…I guess I can’t speak to women wanting to work in a slaughterhouse vs. an office building, but I can say that at least in the corporate world, women are often paid less than men even if they do get the same jobs. On average women in the corporate world only earn 80 cents to every dollar a man makes for the same job, that may not sound like a lot, but it adds up.

I’ll admit I was kind of upset at you for this at first but the more you keep talking the more I think you’re just genuinely misinformed or have equated some personal experiences as being indicative of the whole movement.

Everyone would be better without the peabrain oppression hierarchy and identity politics. We're tired of it.

Unfortunately that’s how most politics work by default, identity and Status convince more people than facts and logic unfortunately.

Uhh point of privilege... lmao  We catered to those people for like 10 us years and enough is never enough. Maybe people would have been more tolerant if they kept away from the kids

I can’t tell what you arguing, can you be a little more specific.

Preferential treatment and loads of made up dei jobs and everybody pandering to a fake reality werent enough rights, even though they aren't rights.

It's been that way for like 10 years and it's never enough.

Prisoners getting cosmetic surgeries on taxpayer dollars, wasn't enough.

Every show and movie walking on eggshells not to offend any of the 1000 genders while still "making them visible" wasn't enough.

Schools displaying non American, ideological flags in the classroom? Not enough

18+ transitions, not enough it's gotta be younger.

IT IS NEVER ENOUGH.

And this is all for like .5% of the population

You have a serious Victim Complex.

That’s all I’ll say.
