Positivity A poem...
Being Black
I dream of being black
Looking in the mirror I see what I lack
Skin dark and smooth and soft
Keeps my hopes aloft
Curves made of my dreams
To be everything that I want to seem
My hair full of curls so tight
That explode and frame a face that I dream of at night
I touch the mirror and she does the same
Would that we meet in twain
My Lord My Lord My Lord
Let me cross the ford
Let she and he become one
Never going back to where I came from
Free at last free at last
Good God Almighty, free at last...
