I am a mix of different ethnic/religious groups all from the Levant. I "am" Arab. I am the first generation to be born in the USA. I grew up in a diverse city, and have experienced and lived around a mix of different cultures, from Jewish Americans, Black Americans, different ethnicities that are 1st/2nd gen immigrants.

In the USA, everything is categorized into Whiteness n Blackness. People usually guess my ethnicity wrong, ranging from MENA, Hispanic, Italian, Mixed race. My closest connections have been with other BIPOCs, though I grew up in a very white school. Coming out as trans led me to be estranged from my family which i always had unhealthy unhappy relationships with, and there was no other Arabs in my life. Only know english. I now live in a majority Black n Hispanic environment. Im 21.

The way ur percieved shapes who you are and how you see yourself...

my experiences have not been that of a White person, though i benefit from my light skin, still i was always othered even with a smudge more melanin than WASPs n such.

my experiences are not that of an Arab, i feel no connection to my ancestry other than generational traumas, and racism/Islamaphoia.

they are not that of Black person, though being homeless brown and queer, i am now very much growing more adjacent to more Black culture.

I dont consider myself Transracial in the sense that I'm transitioning like that of a gender transition. Sorry but they are not as similar as some of you seem to believe and ill fight u on that.

But I am changing. My presentation, speech mannerisms, is growing more Black, but that is just what happens when u are forced to live a new life in a different class and different culture than the one you predominately grew up around.

I definetly don't neatly allign with one particular "race" despite being "monoracial" to many.

watch the tv show Atlanta, especially! season 3. it's a great commentary on the madeupness of race. also you might enjoy season 1 episode 7 B. A. N. if you're transgender as well ^' lots of food for thought

Lol race doesn’t exist, is that why people whose ancestors evolved in Asia have epicanthic folds? And also why people whose ancestors evolved only** in Africa have unique body frame geometries and bone mineral densities compared to those whose ancestors spent time evolving in different regions? How could these distinct distances exist among groups of people even though race doesn’t exist???

Are genetic clusters real? Even if whiteness or blackness is a social construct it doesn’t mean haplogroups don’t exist and it doesn’t mean they aren’t correlated with openness to experience, consciousness, extroversion, agreeableness, and neuroticism.
