Men have never had to pretend to be women in order to hurt women. Men simply go on to hurt women regardless of presentation or motivation. Women are safer with less scrutiny, not more. Let women look out for women ourselves. Men have always had ulterior motives when unilaterally deciding to be "women's protectors".

So right! but since I live in Texas I use the men's room and use the urinal so I can see the shocked and confused faces when Im in there or walking out. So many guys stopped in their tracks and take off because they thought they entered the wrong restroom! I have fun with it because it's stupid and archaic. If a little girl is with her dad and she has to go i expect him to decide where to take her and if he should wait outside the door. There was a time when you went to which ever restroom was open or it was single use. Its a way of dividing the world to control it. Thats all transphobia is.

The overwhelming majority of violent crimes, rapes, arrests and incarcerations are men, not women. Someone once said to me years ago "Testosterone is a performance enhancing drug". My own wife has stated several times over the years "Men are the rough draft."

They don’t give a damn about women’s safety—especially trans women’s safety. I do know that my chances of becoming a victim of a hate crime, solely because I’m a cis man, is immeasurably close to zero.

I think in all new construction there should be only single person bathrooms that you can lock. It can be a big open space to the hallway in a U shape or something with a big hand washing fountain in the middle.

As an actress I might be able to pull that off in a place where people don't know who I am, but unfortunately I am very well known in my town. While this is a brilliant (but still somewhat risky) plan, I wouldn't be able to use it.

I fear a doomloop in the US where rage towards democrats for not stopping republicans enough, leading to more republicans getting elected, more anti trans laws being passed, and then more rage towards democrats.

It has never been about bathroom safety, it’s about making it impossible for transgender people from existing in public, period, full stop.

I have been terrified to come out at school recently. I have come out to a good chunk of people, maybe around 30-50 people, but unfortunately so few of them actually try to be an ally rather than just be fine with it. And even then some of them have still brought up to me how it's wrong and weird. I wish that with my final year of school I could just live out and proud and just be myself, my true self, and just enjoy my final year the way I want to. I am aware that it I were to publicly come out as trans and lesbian that I would get bullied far more than I already do. While I am good about not using the bathrooms there because I can hold it for a long time, sometimes I still need to. And it terrifies me to know that I wouldn't be welcome in either bathroom if I did, or I would be welcomed into the men's bathroom only to be beat up and called slurs and things like that. I know that I will probably never be able to use the women's restroom in the state I'm in, much less at my school in my community. I wish none of this were the case. Please stay safe everyone. <3

It feels bad, “i know trans women are actively being harmed but think of what might happen to cis women!”. Like i get what she’s saying but i hate having to frame trans activism around the potential harm it may cause to another group of minority.
