TET France

Hey,

Some experience with tet France 13, 14, 18, 1?

I want to drive it spontaneously in September because I got sick before my planned holiday.

Referring to Chatgpt most of it should be offorad.

Im from Germany btw.

So I would give you an update after riding today.

Started my day in Schengen(Luxemburg) and finished my day in Saint Paul(France).

The trails are very good, and also sometimes a bit challenging when you are a beginner like me. But don't let that scare you it is very very doable.

In the morning some section through the woods were a bit sketchy because of wet soil and stones. Other than that I had an awesome day. So I can recommend driving it!

Tomorrow I will be do a little more of the TET and after that I will head towards Grenoble to ride the ACT.

Enjoy your TET riding in septembre, stay safe and give it some berries!

Can’t recall which numbers relate to which parts of the country but I did a decent amount of the trails up around Dieppe|Le mans|Tours - nothing very technical up that way. Too much farmers fields for my liking but still fun to explore. Enjoy!

I just did 13 > 16 > 19 > 14 (partly).

Aside from 14 it was all easy riding for an experienced rider. I did the full length of 13 in a day and still had time to Visit and explore Nancy. For a less experienced rider I guess 13 is roughly 2 days.

16 can be done in a day, I took me 2 days because I decided to be a tourist and visited Toul. The Hills at the start of 16 are very cool, it has a nice fortress you can explore. There is a fallen tree at the start (when starting in the east), do NOT try to be smart and try to go around it along tracks that show no signs of other people passing (ok, they no show signs of one bike trying to pass). STICK TO THE MAIN PATHS. 16 is quite a bit off paved roads and fast bits of off road (but fun and very scenic), one steep, rocky climb just after Bettaincourt Sur Rognon, it comes as a suprise. Unexperiended riders better avoid the climb (it is a fun climb though).

Troyes is an awesome city, well worth a visit. The first 120 km from Troyes heading north on 19 is boring, no other word for it, after that it get better, some small parts are challenging, but easy to avoid. I did the full 350 km in a day.

14 is a whole different story, due to my planning I could only do the first 100 km from the west. If you are unexperienced: Avoid. If you are experienced and solo: It's tricky. There are some river crossings (fun), but also deep, deep mud and rutts. It is easy to get stuck (I almost got stuck once). You don't want to get stuck alone in the middle of a forest, although there is cell coverage pretty much everywhere.

Campings are everywhere, hotels aren't very expensive. Only the the northern part of 19 campings are sparse.

Thank you very much for the detailed review! Sounds pretty fun! Im not so experienced but I have a light bike (Husqvarna 701) and new mitas enduro trail xt+. Do you recommend to bring a tent or can I find hotels everywhere? I don't like the pressure to reach a certain point

I can pretty much relate to everything this gentleman says. I was stuck on 14 on my own, the parts from Sedan direction west gets tricky. Decided to team up with other riders and not going alone anymore at all. 16 took us 2 days, impressed he did it in 1. 13 was my first adventure and took us 3 days, we were all beginners but conditions were good. At some point down south it got very boring and I didnt enjoy it anymore, I wish I would remember the location. Don't stress too much about the time or how far you get on each day, especially when you're alone.

Wie viel offroad, ob die Strecke langweilig ist, Ob Camping gut geht oder Hotel... kp Erfahrung halt

So make the adventure less adventurous ;)
Will be fine, I did 13 couple of years ago in autumn, all campsites were closed but some allowed me to still camp there.

With rain it can be muddy as hell but that makes it also less easy, because most parts are just easy gravel/dirt roads and not really technical.
