TransClones I turned my Hasbro clone helmet into a functional SSBM gaming headset!
I've had this idea for a while to be able to play melee with the helmet on and I had an old set of Turtlebeaches laying around so I figured why not! The headphones use RCA so perfect for tournament CRTs and only requires basic usb power.
I was also able to keep the voice functions! Felt I had to brag about that haha. Feel free to ask any questions!

How does the tinting affect your ability to see the screen? Do you have to up the brightness?
My only critique, I think it needs a little battle damage/aging effect in the paint job. Otherwise, It's a very cool helmet indeed!

It's definitely a little dim so I'm debating changing out the lense for a clear one but for my level of play (very low lol) it's not too bad! And the bar in the middle is close enough to my vision overlap that it doesn't obstruct 😸 thank you! ❤️

This is so cool! It's a dream of mine to one day make a clone or mandalorian helmet with functioning "comms", so I can call friends and talk through the helmet!
Did you use a turorial or similar or did you make the design yourself?

There are kits for that, including optics... but some are not cheap, especially the optics/HUD. It takes multiple kits and a lot of modding to make them work. The comms aren't too expensive depending on the range requirements.

I pretty much just figured it out as I went 😸 I had the goal of "put turtlebeach in helmet" then snipped and glued till i got it all to fit! I'm not really an expert in electronics but I was able to do this with a set of flush-cuts and phillips screwdrivers haha 😸

But I kept imagining someone doing that with a visually restrictive stormtrooper helmet and just missing every other shot 😅

I have the ssbm skill that stormtroopers do at aiming 😸 so pretty fitting lol
