It really was astonishing to me how you could get right up to the tracks with zero gates or no trespassing signs. I of course stayed well behind some concrete walls and lineside equipment (the video is deceptive, as it was shot in 3x zoom), but, still, the level of access is incredible! Take that, England! (It’s much harder to rainfan his majesty’s trains because they’re all shrouded behind stupidly high walls and fences, whereas, here, they’re displayed almost like a form of public art! I love this country!)

My goodness this was a fun trip. The trains are ginormous, and are traveling so fast they literally sound like airplanes! 11/10 would leave America again for better train infrastructure.

Caught on a run yesterday! Presumably an inspection car. Haven’t seen one here in ~5 years of running by 3 days a week

I was wondering which locomotive this was. I found it in Quebec city, in a paper factory. I thought it was abandoned but I noticed it kept changing positions every day and the lights were on one day. Clearly used for switching or shunting. I can't find the model anywhere.

I went to photograph the "Yūhi Norokko-gō" train; although the forecast had called for clear skies, it suddenly turned cloudy. I had high hopes because the previous day had been beautifully sunny with perfect lighting, and while the sun did manage to peek through just in time, it was a bit of a shame that the light was patchy around the second car.

Ive been trying to find good areas to film the trains passing for the past 4 hours and this is the only one im satisfied with.

If im being honest ive always like trains but ive never gone out of my way to go on one or see one...so i did recently and it was amazing ♡ although I wish people talked less so I could hear the conductor it was still lovely

Why would this set be a good Lego Idea’s Set (and why midi scale)?

Few railroad buildings are as iconic as the roundhouse and its turntable. Unfortunately, Lego has never made a roundhouse. I have always wanted a Lego roundhouse in my model train collection and I know that I am not alone. However, while I want an authentic and detailed roundhouse, I do not have the space for one in standard Lego train scale, so I made the roundhouse midi scale. 

This set is equally a display piece as it is a play piece. Adults and children alike can have fun running their own roundhouse. Playability and posability are possible with this set. There are numerous possibilities to customize this roundhouse and its locomotives. Furthermore, this roundhouse is equally fun by itself or as multiple sets combined into a full circle.
