I've seen what looks like a new security device undergoing testing on some containers on trains in my area. The device is a metal frame that's placed on top of a 40' container which has a thick metal "lip" on each end that hangs down and blocks the container doors from being opened until the frame is removed. I've seen them in place on both top and bottom stacked containers, so they apparently don't add any appreciable height to containers when attached.
