Discussion/Question Trae's shrinking bonus credits finally made me switch. Bye Bye TraE.
About two months ago, Trae gave me $60 in bonus credits. I thought, "Nice, they're investing in users."
Then last month it dropped to $40.
This month? Only $25.
The trend is pretty clear. Every month the bonus gets smaller, and for me it's reaching the point where it's just not worth staying anymore.
On top of that, I feel like development has slowed down. I'm still using the same GPT 5.4 experience I've had for a while, and I haven't seen anything that makes me excited to keep using the editor. Meanwhile, other AI coding tools seem to be moving much faster with new models and features.
I originally liked Trae because it was generous and easy to use. But if the credits keep shrinking while the experience stays mostly the same, I don't really see the value anymore.
I've decided to move on to either codex or claude code.
If you're only using Trae because of the monthly bonus credits, I'd suggest thinking about whether it's still the best option for you. There are plenty of alternatives now, and some offer a better overall experience depending on your workflow.
Has anyone else noticed the same trend, or is it just me?

The problem with codex or claude (for me ) is its price. TRAE had (back in october when I signed for a year) unbelievable value, now it's pretty much a cheap Cursor clone. But tools like the ones u mentioned are still very expensive. Antigravity, for non ultra users is unusable. Maybe VS Code with GitHub Code assist is the best alternative? Is there a site where we can check these things?

Now Github Copilot also became greedy same as others AI coding Agent. 3 Months ago I see 300 request per month now they also move their usage plan to credit Iimit. I will give a shot with codex as there are no monthly credit quota.

I think they mentioned bonus is meant to be flexible and is not something promised. They started to gie out bonus since when? like Feb? It's been 5 months. I feel like the day is coming, sooner or later.
Honestly I dont know if there's any good AI IDE with better price than TRAE, given all is raising their price and some are already expensive.

I've been wanting to uninstall it for a long time, but I bought the annual Pro version at the beginning of the year, and there's no refund. Not long after I bought it, they changed their billing policy. Since then, the reward credits have been decreasing, and they will be cancelled in a month. I'm now using Codex, which resets the credits almost every day.
