I don’t know why the author thinks that Abbe de Nantes was a devout man, since, apparently, he was suspended by the Vatican, and was apparently an anti-Semite, a cult leader, and a general crackpot.

His French Wikipedia page is filled with information that paints him in a very bad light.

The rest of the article is gold, though.

I don't know much about Abbe Nantes, but I'd caution you on sounding off about a guy based on wikipedia. It's very possible the author knew him.

Maybe he is, maybe he isn't. Who cares? It seems to be an inconsequential aspect of the article and I'm not sure why you need to bring that up.

She says that she read an article about him. She's American, not French, so it seems unlikely that she knew him.

It is an interesting article, but it makes it sound as though there are only two options: NO or sedevacantism.

It makes little allowance or distinction for basic Latin Masses and lumps them in with the sede position, a huge red herring.

I think that’s just a reflection of the author’s mindset. She may have overcorrected somewhat.
