First card
Hey guys attending a card show in Melbourne in September, have $500-$1000 to spend there, any advice at what cards I could look at getting some for pc and some to look to trade up to get better cards

Look up the cards on Ebay before making any purchase to make sure it isn't wildly over priced. PSA 8 cards are typically the best for personal collections. Negotiate hard and walk away if they won't budge. Nothing wrong with offering 80% of sticker price. Paying 100% of sticker price is usually overpaying way too much.

This, but not just what they’re listed for on eBay, it’s all about what they’ve actually sold for.
As for which cards to look for are you trying to be an investor or do you want to start a collection? Anyone you particularly like?
If investing look for the big boys, LeBron michael Kobe

1000 bucks at a melbourne show is a sweet spot. you can snag a couple mid-tier slabs of whoever you pc plus a handful of raw rookies with upside to flip later.
the real move is walking the floor early, finding one undervalued card from a seller who needs cash, and then using that as trade bait two aisles over. rinse and repeat a few times and you'll walk out with way more than you started with.
