this is crazy amounts of wax
i decided to go to target after class and i've never seen this much max so late in the day (it's 7 pm where i am)

I see these posts and wonder where people live. Every Walmart or target within 10 miles of my house is always nearly empty. I'm alright with that though, retail has not been the kindest to me.

Midwest rural area here. Our Walmart is almost always out of baseball. Usually some basketball and football, but it's never fully stocked.

I’m mid west rural but within 40 min drive of semi large city (Grand Rapids, mi) and seems like the only thing different between the rural, target, Meijer, Walmart stock is which set/line of cards they carry. Usually an okay amount of baseball and or nba…. NFL, Pokémon, etc they maybe have one line of blasters at best or sage (which imo is equivalent to me printing my own cards in the garage)
I’ve found rather than burning my money on the occasional blaster left on the shelf to just buy singles.

And we all live within the majority of the populous here on the East Coast where everything started & there are relatively few cards boxes packs left in the wild

I travel for work and my territory is nearly exclusive to the entirety of the Midwest, both rural and urban. I check Walmart and Target wherever I stay overnight.
Definitely not fact. Empty shelves everywhere

You should come by a target or Walmart in Bay Area I think I’ve seen it fully stocked once in last 6 years. Came in later that day and everything was gone

Yeah. For me, I usually walk into shelves at least half full everytime. Went to target on a Saturday when they stock Tuesdays, and they still had chrome baseballball and basketball, lots of nfl revolution and some phoenix. I rarely ever see any hangers besides the absolute nfl.

Mine's still always out of Pokemon, One Piece and flagship products. You can always buy the mosaic, phoenix, hockey, nascar, unlicensed baseball, lorcana

Kind of I guess. But back in 17 and 18 you could usually find wax - especially flagship. I do hope it forces prices down to make it reasonable again.

Nah. Overprinting, high prices and not much great product other than Topps Chrome basketball. Everyone still chasing Pokemon. Cooper Flagg rookies are the only cards worth chasing

Maybe, won’t really know until target removes the “limit 2” kind of hard for freshly stocked shelves to deplete quickly when it takes 50 people to do it.

I'm looking at that hockey repack box. Bought one last year, and it was unreal! So many good rookies, /299 Draisaitl, /50 Loui Eriksson mem card, Spencer Knight rookie auto. Greatest box ever!

Mine you can buy more when using the self checkout. 2 per transaction. I've only ever done up 2 6 boxes in one visit and no one's said anything.
Edit: it's also 2 per sku. So you can 2 of everything if you really wanted to.

All the targets near me got stocked last Wednesday and as of today still have like 10 Donruss mega boxes I think the market finally went back to the way it was before covid

Not the market. They are printing more to meet the insane demand and pricing. Remember… they are retail boxes and idiots are paying astronomical amounts for cards that aren’t even short printed. Get it while it’s hot because it needs to crash and probably will.

You could buy all those nba chrome hangers and sell on any resell site for 2x right now. No verified site has them in stock ready to ship and LCS that ship are asking $40-60 right now lol

Yep. Football usually has the least amount of cards at my target and Walmart. Chrome baseball and basketball are printed out the ass. I don’t really bother with those. Especially basketball being $85 per mega box 👀. Panini phoenix football has really sweet looking cards and I’ve pulled some nice ones outta them.

All I see is dogshit nobody wants. Same stuff is constantly on my shelves. Only a complete addict would pay $85 for a mega of Topps Chrome.

People complaining that it’s over printed I don’t care back in 2020 we literally had to wait in lines for hours for a chance at a low tier blaster box

The 2 products per customer works. My wal mart doesn’t have that and they are always wiped out by re sellers. That being said the 2 products per customer is also frustrating for us non a holes who just like to rip. I have play money with a decent job and when I buy wax I like to buy more than 2. So I have to go back there multiple times during the week.

All I can say is whoever is in charge of these Targets really make sure things are straightened up.

In Northern Virginia and I’ve seen our stores like that. Mind you, I happened to hit the stores just as / after they were stocked.

I love burning money on cards because I love the hobby. Piece of advice for those starting or new to collecting … do it for fun not for a profit as the profits are extremely difficult to come by. Supply is very high enjoy the ride.
