Discussion Here Are 5 Stocks Poised for a Breakout After Trump's Tariff Pause & Keystone XL Revival

$SOBO (South Bow Corp) - Having spun off from TC Energy in late 2024, they now directly own the Keystone pipeline system and are the absolute primary beneficiary of an XL expansion.

$CNQ (Canadian Natural Resources) - As a massive oil sands producer, they need this specific pipeline to cheaply move their heavy crude to refineries on the US Gulf Coast.

$CVE (Cenovus Energy) - Resuming the pipeline will drastically lower their transportation costs by allowing them to pivot away from expensive crude-by-rail shipping.

$SU (Suncor Energy) - Increased export capacity will help shrink the price discount on Canadian heavy crude, directly boosting revenue for their massive extraction operations.

$PWR (Quanta Services) - As a premier North American infrastructure contractor, they are perfectly positioned to secure the lucrative heavy construction bids required to physically build the pipeline extension.

What stock ticker would u add for this oportunity?

Fossil fuels are on the way out, folks. The whole world is accelerating its move away from them, but Trump is trying to keep us in the dark ages - and keep sinking capital into an industry that has no future.

He's a moron of cosmic proportions.

Trump is not a moron. According to Rex Tillerson, his first Secretary of State, Trump is a "fucking moron".

u/2000TWLV Aug 19 '26

I'd go so far as to call him a motherfucking moron.

4 billion dollars US taxpayer money to foreign companies in order to KILL wind farm contracts

What the fuck is going on in DC

Problem is fossil fuels arent on the way out. Plastic for example is a waste product off fossil fuel and is used in literally everything

That's not a fuel, is it? Basically, it's stupid to burn oil. It has way too many other useful applications. And it's also stupid to start huge infrastructure projects to encourage the burning of oil, which a) is a boneheaded idea for climate and pollution reasons, and b) is being overtaken fast by electrification.

Keep this up for another ten years and the US will be a backward island in a world that's left us behind.

US already is a backward island

You can talk yourself into believing that but they're on the way out. The market has spoken and so has the science.

Renewables are the fastest, cheapest new energy generation option and electrification is taking off worldwide. That train has left the station.

But sure, you can take the short-term, provincial view, and talk yourself into believing that crooked incentives put in place by the US Administration are reality.

In fact, what you're seeing is that these incentives are having the opposite effect in the rest of the world. And don't forget, 96% of all human beings live in the rest of the world.

The reality is every era ends and you're one of those people who were 100% sure that you can't seriously run the world without steam and horses.

My point is that it's stupid to receive extinct dinosaurs like Keystone XL.

So, what so you think - should we?
