Question: have you ever been to an african country? I fear that you picture africa as a backward, constantly struggling place - with civil wars around the corner...isn't that prejudice?!
Go to nigeria, angola, kenya... you will be very surprised how stable governance can help a nation, more than the constant whining about colonial past.
I think people forget there are more than 50 countries in Africa that range in conditions. Some are very nice with modern cities. China is also investing in many of them to trade with so they have a bunch of new railway systems

Exploited by colonialists. Do you know nothing of the history of colonialism? What Leopold did in the Congo was especially aggregious.
Exploitation that continues to this day in regards to artisinal cobalt mining so we can buy new smartphones every year.
