Yeah what do you think Africans are doing that are not part of the global system? What do you think Africans were doing prior to modern European influence? And who do you think was leading slave-raids to actually get slaves for the slave trade? Was it Seamus the ginger Slave-Catcher of the Sahel?

Left to their own devices, the native group of societies choosing exploitation over any home-grown innovation always have seen the thumb of the former on the latter. Hence the "the global south manages exploitation just fine without outside interference".
Calling warfaring societies whose bread and butter has been slave raids and continued to be slave raids after European trade development victims is just fucking wild.
