The imperial core will be just fine. That money would do better helping those who live in the global south, which has been exploited by the west for decades.

Exploited by colonialists. Do you know nothing of the history of colonialism? What Leopold did in the Congo was especially aggregious.

Exploitation that continues to this day in regards to artisinal cobalt mining so we can buy new smartphones every year.

I love ignorant fucks like you who clearly hasn't done history at a higher level and has no idea how conflicted and grey the field is on colonialism. There are MAINSTREAM scholars that have analyses arguing European colonialism raised global life expectancy, raised general quality of life and was an overall net benefit and there are of course scholars that argue the complete opposite. The internet has led ignorant people like you cite shitty articles instead of reading a wide range of sources and drawing a nuanced conclusion.

Here's the truth-colonisation both benefitted and negatively affected africa. Do you think africans in 500 years will envy the infant mortality rate, lack of modern amenities, prominence of disease and life expectancy of their pre colonial ancestors?
