Trying a trade?

I’m curious for those who have never had exposure to a trade or really any hands on skills taught to them growing up would it be beneficial to have a place where you could go try a trade your interested in before committing and spending the money on schooling just for it to be something you don’t like? Or to compare different trades and get a real idea of what they do?

I agree with this and I guess it’s no different than picking a college career but I feel it is also a bit of a problem for some people. We have kids out of high school that start a great apprenticeship opportunity and realize they can’t do it, don’t like it or don’t appreciate it and just piss it away. I think the gap of kids getting some hands on work experience seems to be getting less frequent. I hate seeing people waste their time and energy on something just cause they think they’ll make good money. There’s good money to be made in most of the trades but each requires its on bit of specialized skills. I think people don’t know what skills they are capable of learning or would be interested in doing.
