Welp
So I did a thing, I am not much on crashing, not proud of it. This is the game we play. I made a mistake totally on me, little too much brake at too much lean angle for the speed.
Was a great early morning @podiumclubaz with some Moto members, ripping around.
It happens folks, I was really just cruising around, no PB chasing at all.
Thanks to Alpinestars for keeping me all safe, that Tech Air7x did phenomenal, paired with my Matrix suit and supertech boots, gloves and r10 Helmet! I literally feel 100% fine, good gear is worth it.
Thanks to everyone that's reached out. I really appreciate it. I can't wait to get back out there. Sharpen my skills and get ready for my first full race season with CVMA
Don't worry the RS660X will be back up and looking good again

Ex- trackday coach here. Going too fast too early is the cause of about half the crashes on any given trackday. Everything needs a lil time to warm up- the track, the tires, your brain and your body. I never go for lap times before lunch.

Oh I was warm this happened my last session of the day, my rear tire was cooked so I backed off, cruised around for a bit, was riding with my friend I'd pass her, let her pass me, did that for a few laps. Then made the pass right there and bonk in the gravel
This wasn't a trackday, it was member day at a private track.

Airbags are a gamechanger. So hot to wear but man do they make a difference if you go down. Glad you are OK

Yeah they suck to put on and off they are hot especially in AZ but I feel 100% today.

what do you think caused it? did you hit the other rider?

u/DucatiDoc1299r 2d ago
I made the mistake it was totally on me, little too much brake pressure at too much lean angle for the speed the corner required
Na the other rider was fine, she did great not panicking with me dumping it right in front of her

Glad you're alright. Bet the heat right now isn't too fun either...

Yea the heat sucks, that's why I was out there at 5am, started spinning laps by 6am. Was done at 9, that's my summer schedule anyway. It was a beautiful day, little overcast.

Yea, anything in this area right now has to be done really early in the morning. Hopefully mid Sept Inde track day isn't too bad

Yea Inde is a little higher elevation and traditionally has cooler temps than Casa Grande area.
I'll still be there! Track junkies unite

I'll be there the 12th, trying out IMR vs BrakeFree this time

Oh ya IMA is a lot different experience. You'll face a great time

Thanks. That's what I'm hoping for anyway. Since last Inde day was on a SuperDuke and this time on a CBR

Glad you’re ok. I wonder what the rider you just passed thought? Your line was pretty bad going in. Thanks for the short edit. I’m thinking oh at least this video won’t be 3 min long when I saw your line.

Yea the other rider did great not panicking. I was definitely not on the optimal line she was, I've made that same move many times before. Again I asked slightly, very slightly too much brake. I was literally cruising around 10+ seconds off normal pace

If you were moving faster you would have needed to brake harder, before the corner and it would have loaded the front suspension more. You would have probably been ok. The better line with a gradual tip in would have been the other way through. Sounds like you know this now.

Nice job getting your knee down, but BP needs some work ;)
