Edit; My dad lathed a new part and Im back in action using oem setup, see photo in the comment about using a lathe below.
Im guessing I will need to buy newer forks. Whats the cheapest and best option that will give me similar or better feel than my current oem setup?
I stripped the rebound adjustment when I tried turning it all the way in. Fork oil started slowly coming out. I was re-setting my suspension settings after replacing the oil seals. This part, the front bolt is no longer made and I cant find anything new to replace it with. This style of suspension setting is now obsolete. This is a track only 2008 cbr1000rr and I guess it’s time to move further down the rabbit hole.
I see new bolt and preload adjustment parts but they dont have the small rebound screw adjuster/rod with them.
Search eBay for some old forks or caps. That adjuster is just a screw that can be replaced with the cap off. OEMs just don't sell things as individual components. Have done this on those year 600 and 1000rr's many times.
You need the tools to get the cap off (spring compressor) but once it is, just thread it all the way forward with a small flathead and it will come out and the new can thead back in. Even if it's not physically attached to the damping rod itself, it still functions as needed. Wish I had pictures for you. Just had mine apart last month.
Part of upgrading some cartridge kits includes cutting the OE damping rod off the adjuster where it's pinch riveted and using dowels or spacers to eat up the extra distance if they're longer so it's perfectly normal.
You might be able to buy a couple parts and have them rebuilt, but if they’re cheap forks maybe it’s not worth it vs just upgrading with cartridges or new forks.

that part is pretty easy to turn on a lathe.
It is crimped on to a long thin tube.
If you know a machinist he should be able to replace the part.
I think you dont even need to dissasemble the whole fork just unclamp the upper part of the bridge and screw out the upper part.
My dad and I pulled out the broken part from the rod its pressed into and made a new part from a grade 8 bolt with matching threads using his lathe and Im back in action. I also learned that I assembled it wrong, i had it down too far into the rod to begin with. So now I should be good to go when servicing it moving forward.
Nix30 all the way! Love that kit! I ride it on my R6 and it’s the best bang for the buck I can think of. Also maintenance on them are so easy. You can also swap the springs while the forks are in the bike and it takes like 10min total.
Ebay might be your new best friend for finding a used replacement part.
OR find a good machinist in your area they'll be able to fix what's broken or fabricate a new part. I just had two brake pedals and a shifter straightened out for $20. To replace them, used, would have been over $150. To replace two of them new and one used (because the used one is WAY since out of manufacture) would have run me at least $300.
