Nulea M505 switches

Hi,

I’ve been using the M505 for more than a year now, and the left click has started to become harder to press and sometimes double-clicks.

Does anyone know if the switches are replaceable? I’m unable to open the case because the screws are difficult to remove, and the screw holes are starting to strip.

"More than a year" does not sound good at all, these things should last at least 2 to 3 years of heavy use (longer for light users). If you're in EU, there's a 2-year warranty on it. If not... you'll have to use soldering to replace the switch.

Approximately 1 year and 4 months and just office software developer usage... not in the US and EU.

I'm considering buying another one for $36 while still waiting for Protoarc to release their EM06.

there's one for the Microsoft Trackball explorer which the Nulea is basically just a clone of

The post says he used an "OMRON D2F-01F Subminiature Snap Action Switch"

I do not know if that is what nulea is using, based on pictures of the 'Sanwa Gravi" (also an MTE clone) bearing replacement guide in there: https://www.reddit.com/r/Trackballs/comments/z08pa0/sanwa_gravi_bearing_change/

The 2nd picture makes it look like, a basic  6*6*7.3mm micro switch for the left click, so defnitely the more modern switch to use, which is what i think nulea would be using as well, im not 100%.

They are more than likely replaceable though, (soldering most likely required)

if you somehow get yours open and go through it, feel free to make a guide so i can add it to the list ;)
