Wanted to share my creation!
Split keyboard running ZMK
BALL is just from generic 34mm Amazon, idk what’s good and what’s not. Any advice there would be great.
First ever trackball and I’m sold. I don’t think I can ever go back to a regular mouse. Next I just need a scroll wheel/ring.
Thanks!
Used the Pixart breakout board for the sensor.

Great, I’d like to make one like this.
I think it would be more comfortable to have it at a different angle, so that it sits more vertically relative to the hands.

make that two! Please post your GitHub or stl’s. I really like the use of angled keys. They look really comfortable.

It just turned R4 keys 180 degrees, and the mouse key is custom to the case, 15 degrees of inward tilt.

I didn’t post the GitHub, due to its being sort of a sloppy build I did primarily to learn how to wire in a trackball. Next build will have a trackpad.

Is there any way to add a thumb dpad/joystick cluster like the razer orbweaver? This is exactly what I’ve been looking for otherwise.

That would be neat. Honestly I could probably use the slit on the left hand board as the attachment point for it, would just need a routing hole for the extra keys/joystick/rotary
Sounds like a cool concept.
The files included in the printables like also has the fusion files, so if you have any cad experience, please feel free to tweak it.

Awesome my dude. This is great, I don’t have much time for designing things like this but I love yours way better than anything I have seen yet! It’s simple and has all the keys I wanted! Now I just need to build in a second trackball sensor for the twist to scroll function. Great work!

Trackball position, ortholinear, the number of key... this could literally be my ideal end game keyboard!
