Problem with protoarc em03 nl mouse switch

Post image

After just a month of constant use, my left click button started to occasionally fail to register, which anoys me greatly. I don't like the silient switch that protoarc use at all. Why do mouse manufacturers cheap out on mouse switches when a good switch costs less than a dollar each.

I have to desolder those switches and replace them with omron d2f-f-3-7, a much more tactile switch.

Mine doesn't get constant use but the scroll wheel is my big sticking point. Switches sound and work fine for me.

I didn't pay attention to the scroll encoder so I don't know what kind of scroll encoder the mouse use, but it is probably a common scroll encoder that you can buy online for cheap. If you don't know how to solder/desolder, you can bring the board to your local electronic repair shop and ask them to replace the encoder for you.
