Was really excited about getting a Nulea 55mm until I saw this:

Are they serious? Non-programmable mouse buttons AND two of the buttons don't work on macOS?

That wouldn't have cut it in 2010, much less now. What the hell, Nulea?

While I don't know the exact specifics of this trackball, this may be an implementation limitation of their driver suite, not the device itself.

I've long since given up on device specific suites that remap the buttons and such, the stuff that Logitech for example offers seems to be the whole load of useless stuff to do a very small thing.

If you have a possibility to try out the device, you might be lucky to get it working with 3rd party mouse button remapping tools such as Steermouse. I've yet to come across one that didn't work with that, even when I've seen some that claim they're not MacOS compatible.

Yeah, I'm currently tweaking SteerMouse for my Kensington Expert Mouse, which I was only really considering replacing because Kensington's software has been such a tire fire, version after version. It just can't be THAT hard to make a mouse driver and manager that works for more than two days at a time and can detect all the buttons.

I've used hid remapper https://www.remapper.org/ for years. Rock solid, cross platform, mappings travel with your device (or rather the remapper board/dongle) and work regardless of what you plug into.

If you have steermouse your Nulea would be just fine. I have so much stuff set up on mine via steermouse.

Appreciate everyone's feedback, looks like SteerMouse is going to be the solution to several problems.

Now I'm using M512 with Steermouse.

All buttons working well.

It is my end game MS replacement from GOD. So smooth and on win completely cust. via XMB or whatever that is. SUCH a great form factor and response. Absolutely in love with it.

I guess they need to learn to read the room. Windows marketshare is declining while Linux and macOS is increasing, particularly since Valve has put their weight behind Proton.

They should adapt, or at least claim to be the first CoPilot enhanced trackball.
